As Sales Manager you think along with the client and our team of concept-engineers to get to an optimal solution to the problematics that the client submits. Throughout the various projects you will go along with the team concept-engineering and the customer in the process of collecting project information, working for a solution, estimating the return on investment and come to the final decision to invest in the right solution. This role is an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at Dematic helping to define and shape the future of materials handling solutions covering the Benelux region.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • To support and ultimately lead the identification and winning of material handling projects within Dematic’s core competency within the Benelux Market
  • Learn and then lead identification through proposal submission and final negotiation with the client
  • Understand how we ensure that all proposals are developed and submitted in line with the Dematic Business Winning process
  • Independently and personally develop various sales initiatives and sales strategies, aimed at increasing the market share according to the guidelines provided by the management. Particular attention should be paid to the increase in turnover and gross profit.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Responsibilities

1.1 Prospection & Marketing

  • Develop and update market and offering analysis
  • Develop and follow up sales actions
  • Organize, implement and follow up targeted prospecting (direct contact, targeted mailings, trade shows, networking ...)
  • Develop, implement and follow up publicity campaigns

1.2 Sales

  • Analyze the customer’s inquiry and situate it within Dematic’s competencies in general. Weigh whether Dematic can provide added value and a competitive advantage. Decide, in consultation with the system engineers, whether a quotation is going to be made.
  • “Translate” the customer’s inquiry into a logistical concept and then into a concrete solution and a professional quotation (see next point)
  • Draw up quotations which are commercially justified and conform to the legal, administrative, financial and technical guidelines of the management and to Dematic’s quality rules
  • Guide the commercial project development until order closing and if necessary, also during project realization

1.3 Contact with customer

  • Make new contacts, maintain and strengthen them
  • Convince the customer

1.4 Contact with sub-contractors / partners / trade associations

  • Get in touch with potential new partners
  • Investigate potential partners / trade associations with regards to their competences (technical, financial, operational, etc.)

Function requirements

2.1 Degree’s, certificates & experience

  • Master degree in electro mechanics, information technology, commercial sciences or equivalent experience
  • Driver license
  • 5 year of proven experience in independent sales of industrial applications
  • Knowledge/experience in marketing is a plus

2.2 Professional knowledge

  • Very good general technical knowledge

  • Marketing- & sales strategies

2.3 Skills

  • Microsoft Windows & Office
  • Use of CRM databases
