About the team:

The team are working in an Agile, SAFe development environment. The team is made up of developers, testers and a Product owner. As a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst you will be responsible for hands on functional testing on the payment’s platform whilst acting as a mentor to more junior members of the team. You will be the test lead for all the teams project/feature testing and will be the go to person for all testing related points. You will be working with your agile team to deliver products and change requests of the highest quality whilst proactively leading on identifying improvements and enhancements on the platform and to the testing processes.

What you will be doing:

  • You will be owning the designing and planning test strategies for projects and applications
  • You will be undertaking planning activities for agile deliveries
  • You will work alongside the Automation Test Lead to progress automation backlog items
  • You will create automated tests to enhance the existing test suite using Selenium
  • You will support and maintain the test automation framework with respect to implementation of new features, existing features and bug fixes
  • You will be analysing requirements and user stories to derive automated test cases, adding to the test suite using Selenium
  • You will be executing tests thoroughly to ensure software quality, running automated tests and identifying defects
  • You will be actively contributing to process improvement initiatives and enhancements to current procedures including recommending quality improvements
  • You will be working with project teams to resolve any issues in a timely manner whilst keeping relevant stakeholders informed of progress and challenges
  • You will be supporting and maintaining the test automation framework with respect to implementation of new features, existing features, or bug fixes
  • Makes recommendations and directs improvements to the software development lifecycle process.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to teams on quality assurance methodologies and processes and educate on testers responsibilities/accountabilities to achieve on-time and quality deliverables.

What you bring:

  • Previous experience of working as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
  • Experience within an agile development environment
  • Experience of test automation using Selenium Web Driver
  • Ability to refactor code to reduce complexity
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching junior members of the team
  • Knowledge of software testing procedures and be skilled in test planning, test estimation, prioritisation and risk-based testing
  • Practical experience of agile testing methodologies – BDD, TDD etc.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to provide guidance to junior team members
  • Proficiency in quality management methods, tools and technologies

Added bonus if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with API and Microservices testing
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, OpenShift)
