The Western Union User Experience Design team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Specialist, UX Designer to join us to support our newly created Retail product pillar. The Retail product team is responsible for creating innovative business-to-customer payment products that allow our Western Union agents to service customers with the greatest experience possible.

As a Senior Specialist, UX Designer, you’ll be contributing to this mission for our retail and omnichannel customers.

  • able to visualize an experience in the abstract, break down complex use-cases and then be able to drive the vision into solid design deliverables.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with research, senior stakeholders, product managers and engineering teams to brainstorm and co-create ideas, approaches, and solutions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Sketch / Figma, along with our established Design System
  • Ensure that designs follow best practices and use research & testing to inform and validate
  • Confidently challenge the status quo, encouraging all involved to address root causes to ensure the best outcome for users
  • Apply a positive and constructive attitude when giving and receiving all feedback
  • Deliver high-quality design assets to the engineering team, along with clear guidance to ensure all aspects of the designs are fully understood.
  • Provide ongoing support to engineering, with regular UX review checkpoints to ensure quality and that the system is being built as designed

Role Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry UX Design experience
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving
  • Experience on complex, enterprise-scale or consumer design projects
  • Outstanding skills in professional design tools - Figma experience is a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • A strong portfolio of innovative design work that demonstrates industry-leading design and business success. 
  • Experience designing for global products across multiple platforms.
  • You will need an online portfolio of your work to apply for this role.
  • Keen interest in, or knowledge of, banking or finance
  • Experience in POS and/or retail, KIOSKs etc

Salary 

The on-target earnings range is $99,165- $145,200 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
