Position Title: IT Professional - Laboratory Analyst

Reporting To: Associate Director - MQ IDS

Lilly is currently constructing a Next Generation Biotech Drug Substance Manufacturing Facility in Limerick, Ireland. This facility will be Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing site and will include next-generation manufacturing technologies and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will deliver improvements in safety and quality, and increased productivity and process performance.

Main Purpose and Objectives of Position:

Support installation, validation, and maintenance of a wide variety of computerized instrument systems in laboratory areas. Provide in depth support for laboratory applications, systems and equipment relying on applicant’s business area knowledge and computer skills. Ensure that computerized instruments systems meet all cybersecurity, data integrity, life cycle management and quality requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Laboratory instrumentation systems support, including installations, configurations and validation of computer equipment attached to laboratory instrumentation.
  • Coordinate installation, validation, and problems resolution with vendors.
  • Create, modify, and enhance business applications and/or systems to satisfy business information demands.
  • Develop and test standards and procedures for computer equipment and software associated with laboratory equipment.
  • Analyze business processes and needs to recommend or implement changes to systems and/or procedures.
  • Coordinates changes and enhancements with vendors and corporate system groups.
  • Provide technical input for methods and computer system validation.
  • Design, program and/or implement new systems to extract data and provide reports, and visualization tools. 
  • Identify root cause(s), trends, and general issues. Work with corresponding personnel to produce detail analysis of situations, causes and solutions.
  • Serves, as a liaison between corporate systems groups and local business users.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement automated-based solutions to address laboratory needs.
  • Keep systems, applications, and platforms on current and supported versions.
  • Keeps close communications with customers during the development cycle of a new application or system or during the support phases of an existing system.
  • Trains and assist systems users in the proper use of laboratory applications and computerized equipment.

Basic requirements:

  • Data integrity and GDP/GMP requirement.
  • Five (5) years of experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Information System, Computer Science, Programming or Engineering or related field.

Additional requirements:

  • Knowledge of laboratory execution & LIMS systems
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure platforms and ISA S95 architecture
  • Establish positive interpersonal relations and interact effectively with people.
  • Work under occasionally supervision.
  • Memorize details and ideas.
  • Work under time pressure.
  • Make decisions.
  • Exercise good judgment in special situations.
  • Perform repetitive task.
