Responsible for statutory financial statements of all Thai legal entities and being a company finance director.

  • Finance Director acts as a key contact point for local authorities for all finance related questions.
  • Responsible for compliance of all accounting documents including financial statements, financial records and transactions with Thai Accounting Standards.
  • Responsible for monitoring and implementation any changes in Thai Accounting Standards. 
  • Receive training and certified by Ministry of Finance if required
  • Contact Person for Corporate Accounting and KL Accounting Hub for all accounting related questions.
  • Quality checks on GL / CA / FA postings by KL Accounting Hub regarding local statutory postings as well as IFRS (at least during the period after IFRS responsibility transferred to KL Hub)
  • Responsible for data integrity and accuracy in various group reporting systems (SAP R11, CS2, ECOT, Margin notes etc.)

Responsible for liaison with external & internal auditors, regulatory authorities

  • Contact person for external auditors in all audit related questions as well as for tax officers in all tax audit related topics
  • Main contact and coordinator for all finance related internal audits (e.g. financial cross check etc)
  • Responsible for providing any other reports/documents requested by local authorities and government agencies

Being a business partner to local management, SEAANZ CFO and business lines by providing financial advice, control & budget process to the stakeholders

  • Establish internal policies & local processes, communicate & implement internal control system,
  • Handling any updates in business licensees if it is required from BL for SO17 or any similar projects
  • Advisor to business managers on new business models or transactions from finance & accounting perspective
  • Prepare local proposals for budgets of Regional Platform Cost (Entity Management, HR, Customers Services and Facilities Management etc.)
  • Perform monthly trend analysis of financials, margins, and feedback to the relevant departments
  • Collaborate with BARC to review standard and actual cost.

Main coordinator for working capital, operating cash-flow and financial instruments arrangement

  • Direct contact person for Treasury department
  • Regular cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Providing any kind of reports or documents to banks regarding financing instruments

Responsible for all Tax related activities incl. filing

  • Responsible for overall tax compliance, support legal entity representatives in regard to company lodgment requirements and document retentions.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Taxes Team and external tax advisor to prepare Transfer Pricing documentation.
  • Contact person for Corporate Taxes and Regional Tax Team for all tax related questions

Being an important contributor to country or regional projects

  • Provide business analytical support to country head/country cluster CFO on strategic projects (e.g. M&A projects, restructuring projects etc)
  • Prepare profitability analysis and business cases for investment projects
  • Participate or lead regional FACT initiatives/projects
  • Drive process harmonization and automation projects to increase efficiency

Team and Resource Management

  • Supervise the Finance & Tax as well as the Accounting team, support the team members on all FACT related questions, develop the team and take care of proper succession planning
  • The position is required to work closely with country head, business controllers, Financial services hub, Local entity management teams and regional functions on operational works and project implementation.
  • Ability to coordinate internal functions (regional and global level) and external consulting firm to achieve target is essential.

Decision Making

In relation to manage accounting and tax obligations and queries from local authorities, the position has full autonomy, provided such decisions are fully compliance with the regulations and policies.

In relation to final decision on establishment of internal control, general office management (e.g. credit insurance contracts, business licenses, rental contracts), the position must consult with the country head and regional CFO.

Position holder is member of the board of directors of Evonik (Thailand) Ltd.

The typical role of the position would therefore be a hybrid of decision initiator and decision reviewer depending on the situation involved.

  • Good problem-solving skills are essential on this role, as the position is responsible for the full range of finance & accounting activities of the company, for which the problems arisen could be unique due to local regulation. It is important that the person understands the root cause and comes up with a workable solution by leveraging internal & external resources.
  • Scrutinize transactions and circumstances from a finance & accounting perspective and challenge the decision.
  • Innovative thinking is an important skill to be able to further develop the process in terms of automation and digitalization to drive efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION*

  • Education, Certification and/or relevant experience required
  • A degree in Finance/Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent professional qualifications with at least 8 years' relevant experience in Finance & Accounting 
  • Additional skills and abilities required for this position
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. management, auditors, tax agents, Corporate Accounting etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good team player, able to work independently and takes initiative
  • Leadership skills to guide and develop the team
  • Technical Knowledge (E.g. specialized knowledge required to perform all the required tasks)
  • High proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP modules mainly in the finance context is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Reporting Tools and Dashboard solutions (e.g. Power BI, SAP Lumira) is a plus
  • Others (if required by the position)
  • Fluent command of English Language in verbal and written communication
