The incumbent is accountable for the planning, design, direction and coordination of electrical engineering for capital and non-capital projects, in the support of operations, at the JM CCR facility in West Deptford NJ and other sites as required.

  • The incumbent is also responsible for supervising subordinate engineers and designers. 
  • The incumbent is responsible for analyzing complex electrical/PLC problems and offering effective resolutions.
  • The incumbent is responsible for ensuring inherently safe electrical designs and installations such that all conform to local, NEC and OSHA codes.
  • The incumbent will work closely with plant maintenance personnel in the operation, troubleshooting and modification of the site cogeneration system to ensure proper and cost-effective operation.
  • The incumbent will be required to provide PLC programming as required supporting plant operations and overseeing the contractors performing regular plant instrumentation calibrations.
  • Provide electrical designs for capital and non-capital projects at the facilities within Chemicals NA/Asia.
  • Hire / manage contractors as required to complete electrical installations.
  • Complete electrical projects within the allotted time and cost.
  • Maintain good communication on assigned projects including monitoring and timely reporting of costs and progress to completion.
  • Provide necessary training to plant personnel regarding operation and controls of installations.
  • Support manufacturing operations through revisions to Allen Bradley PLC code.
  • Responsible for overseeing instrument calibration activities within plant operations.
  • Monitor operation of the cogeneration system and support activities to modify, troubleshoot or enhance equipment as required.
  • Informs and interacts with all levels of management through timely and effective communications.

Employees are trained in Discharge Prevention Containment and Countermeasures (DPCC) regulations and are responsible for proper identification and notification of spills and leaks of hazardous substances. Employees assigned to work with Extraordinarily Hazardous Substances (EHS) or processes, as defined within the scope of the New Jersey State Toxic Catastrophic Prevention act (TCPA), must be fully trained and qualified in accordance with State mandated regulations and company requirements. Additionally, employees assigned to work with hazardous wastes are trained and qualified in proper management practices for hazardous wastes that they handle, per the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).

Requirements for the role:

  • Minimum B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years experience in electrical project management in a chemical or related industry.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and power distribution systems is required.
  • The incumbent must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
