Senior Program Manager, UI Development

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking a Sr. Program Manager with a strong technical background in Product Development & Lifecycle Management of User Interface components like Displays, Head-up Displays, Controls and Switches.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Strategy:

  • Align strategic direction of team for department strategy.
  • Support in executing company strategy, organization, and department development

Projects:

  • Define and acquire business in line with the defined strategies and financial planning.
  • Ensure quality and timelines of every deliverable in the projects.
  • Work out efficient processes and improve existing processes to improve the efficiency, excellence and competitiveness of the department.
  • Ensure effective team, customer and supplier communication.

Product Development:

  • Develop Body E/E systems and products in collaboration with teams in Germany

Leadership:

  • Development of processes to get the required talent for the department.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment and allocation.
  • Keep the employee commitment level high and increase retention.
  • Inspire and motivate the employees.
  • Knowledge and competency build-up
  • Target setting, performance monitoring, coaching and mentoring of employees.
  • Safeguard the critical resources and information.

Budget:

  • Financial planning for the team.
  • Optimum utilization of resources including budget to meet expectations of business units. Costing and pricing of department activities to make MBRDI cost efficient for business units

Network:

  • Develop good reputation of MBRDI in the R&D network of MB Cars & Vans
  • Business development and process improvement through networking and contacts
  • Develop knowledge channel with external agencies, universities, educational institutes etc

Process:

  • Initiation actions for further development of managers and ensure the goals are achieved.
  • Take initiative and be responsible to develop good image of the organization & department by implementation of processes keeping in mind safety, quality, morale, environmental protection, and values of the organization

Qualifikationen

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engg/Electrical & Electronics/ Masters in Computer Applications
  • 15-18 years of overall experience in automotive product development activities including people management, program management, requirements engineering, system analysis and validation.
  • Good understanding of Body & Comfort systems and components.
  • Must have played a key role in the complete product lifecycle of at least 4 - 5 Product Development projects.
  • Good understanding of automotive user interface components & systems
  • Has worked in development of ECUs/Electronic components with high complexity (like Body controller, Displays, Head up displays, Instrument Clusters)

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in & contribute as a good team player
  • Experience in the automotive field and exposure of multi-cultural environment is an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge on German language preferred.
