Job Description

Your Responsibilities

  • Interact with employees at all levels and potential business partners in order to obtain information required to conduct effective third-party due diligence reviews. Conduct due diligence reviews on potential business partners and acquisition targets aligned with internal guidelines.
  • Evaluate the risk of corruption in business practices to determine priority areas for policies, communication, training and auditing. Advise management regarding the requisite steps to bridge identified gaps.
  • Periodically review internal controls, company policies, systems and procedures applicable to the region. Implement remedial actions to mitigate risk of non-compliance with policies and applicable law. 
  • Develop and manage regional compliance training efforts, including delivery of training for colleagues and business partners. 
  • Receive information from employees and others about potential violations of law or company policy and ensure that allegations are investigated and concluded promptly and in line with internal investigative guidelines and procedures. 
  • Any other responsibilities as may be considered necessary to support and advise management regarding ADM’s high standards of ethical business conduct.
  • Cooperate with APAC/US/EMEA headquarters Compliance functions where necessary;

Your Profile

  • Business or Law degree (LLB or LLM) or equivalent suitable degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience. This may include law firm or legal/compliance department in a multinational company. 
  • Must be fluent in English, although additional knowledge of South East Asian languages will also be helpful.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the country, regionally and internationally, and willing to work non-standard hours due to time zone differences.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Project Management – Must be able to manage several projects and ensure completion to agreed deadlines. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to take sound critical
  • Communication – Must have strong communication, negotiation and training skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, senior management, business partners, and government regulators. 
  • Integrity/Values – Must have a strong personal and professional commitment to the values of compliance, ethics and integrity, and must demonstrate same in carrying out daily responsibilities. 
  • Confidentiality – Must have the ability to work with confidential and sensitive material discreetly. 
  • Problem Solving – Must have the ability review complex laws and regulations and propose systems for implementing remedial measures into internal control systems. Must be able to break down complex situations into component parts and develop solutions in a logical, systematic way.
