About the Opportunity:

The Northeastern University Library seeks an enthusiastic and creative individual to serve as the Library’s primary contact with Ex Libris and coordinates use of various Ex Libris platforms (Alma, Primo, and Leganto) throughout the Library. Reporting to the Head of Library Technology Services, the ExLibris Product Manager serves as the Library’s expert on system configurations, analytics, and provides instruction for and assists in the creation of custom reports, as well as co-chairs the Alma and Primo operations committees.

Responsibilities:

Primo Management:

  • Maximizes Primo VE environment utility globally.
  • Works with UX/UI Specialist to conduct usability testing for Primo VE interfaces.
  • Leads evaluation and testing of new releases.
  • Manages Resource Recommender service.
  • Coordinates integration projects when required.
  • Acts as a functional backup for departments.
  • Manages technical integration work with Library Technology Services.
  • Tracks and documents all configuration decisions.

Alma Support:

  • Serves as primary expert on Alma configurations.
  • Monitors Alma configuration work to minimize conflicts.
  • Expert on analytics and reports in Alma.
  • Creates and runs reports, offers training for department analytics.
  • Acts as liaison between departments, Tableau team, and Sushi integrations.
  • Supports large collection-based projects by creating sets.
  • Coordinates technical integration work with Library Technology Services.
  • Tracks and documents all decisions and processes as needed.

Ex Libris (General):

  • Primary contact with Ex Libris, ensuring prompt ticket resolution.
  • Co-chairs Alma Operation Group (Alma-Ops) and Primo Oversight Group (POG).
  • Supports Leganto service as appropriate.
  • Acts as project manager for integrating additional libraries to the local LMS.
  • Coordinates with unit heads to develop and offer staff training.

Qualifications:

Required

  • MLS/MLIS from an accredited library/information science program
  • Minimum of 5 years of increased responsibility working with discovery systems with a focus on system administration and workflow analysis
  • Demonstrable and significant experience with Ex Libris systems
  • Strong focus on customer service and user experience
  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals and the ability to maintain required documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desired

  • Working knowledge of MARC and XML/XSLT
  • Familiarity with statistics and analytical tools
  • Familiarity with COUNTER and SUSHI data protocols
  • Experience with Tableau
