The Senior Technical Project Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for driving and implementing pivotal initiatives, running regional and/or global technical and non-technical projects, and giving support to building the future Global Ops Project and Portfolio Management Office infrastructure and team.

This position is part of the Global Operations PMO & Strategy Team and is a remote role (with approximately 30% travel). At Global Ops Strategy and PMO, our vision is to bring best in class project and portfolio management methodology and skills to support the achievement of our business goals. 

You will be a part of the Global Operations PMO and Strategy team and report to the Vice President, Global Operations PMO and Strategy, responsible for the management of our project portfolio(s) and project management of major operations projects/programs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of the full project life cycle - successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one to two major or several minor/medium projects simultaneously.
  • Establish and drive the achievement of Project and Portfolio KPIs through the adoption of Danaher Business Systems tools (Visual Project Management, Daily Management etc.) and Global Ops PMO Standard Work/Methodology.
  • Demonstrate intuition for business to support how solutions will address project goals
  • Collaborate with, influence and hold accountable cross-functional project teams to ensure projects/programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Develop and effectively communicate project risks, progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, leadership steering team, and executive-level key partners.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement on standard methodologies and tools for project and portfolio management, and PM talent development.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in Engineering or Science related field with 14+ years of related experience in an operations environment (manufacturing, engineering, operations PMO, or logistics and distribution). Or Masters Degree with 12+ years experience. 
  • Project management trained/qualified (e.g PMP certification or equivalent) and demonstrated experience & success in leading large, complex technology/product transfer projects/programs.
  • Demonstrated experience & success in leading medium and large, sophisticated projects/programs. Experienced working knowledge of project and portfolio management governance, process and tools.
  • Global business knowledge and influence – demonstrated understanding of different cultures and approaches and demonstrated ability to lead, follow, work and influence at all levels and in all functions of the organization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels. Proven ability to mentor and facilitate PMs and project teams with varying levels of PM competence. Can take tough decisions around people and can quickly build effective teams in a global matrixed organization.
  • Up to 30% domestic travel will be required based on project needs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • A min of 2 years of practical experience as a Portfolio Manager in a related field.
  • Change Management Certification desired (Prosci/ADKAR or Other)
  • Lean/Six Sigma Experience, certified Kaizen leaders in DBS and demonstrated capability in Problem Solving.
  • Proficiency in Power BI/Smartsheet, Miro, Excel and PM software.

The salary range for this role is 160-200k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
