Purpose of the Position:
The Finance Manager, Internal Controls leads continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that Videojet maintains world-class financial processes and controls.  Strong accounting, audit and analysis skills are required to identify improvement opportunities.  Effective communication skills are essential; this Manager serves as a consultant to our business operations, partnering with them to implement his/her recommendations.  This is a high-visibility role, working closely with Videojet senior leaders and business unit managers, as well as parent company (Danaher) personnel.  
This is a highly visible position, providing financial information to senior management and directing regional and global compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement best-in-class financial processes and controls across Videojet’s consolidated operations
  • Perform and/or direct annual audits and balance sheet reviews for approximately 14 Videojet locations in EMEA; utilize local financial personnel as staffing resources
  • Identify improvement opportunities in financial processes and controls; work with local financial leaders to implement recommendations
  • Review business units’ Anti-Corruption Self Assessments and actively work with Videojet’s Legal Department to develop ACP policies and programs
  • Monitor local banking relationships for compliance with Danaher policies and regulations
  • Coordinate the implementation of new accounting policies and standards
  • Participate in month-end closing activities, including analytic reviews of subsidiary financial statements
Audit & Compliance Support:
  • Implement best-in-class financial processes and controls across Videojet’s global operations
  • Design and implement the annual plan for all internal and external audits, and balance sheet reviews, coordinating global activities with the other Regional Audit Managers and Country Controllers
  • Provide support and follow-up on the closure of audit issues; including monthly updates with Regional Finance Directors and Country General Managers
  • Direct SOX testing and required process improvements resulting from SOX audits
  • Drive other compliance activities including anti-corruption self-assessment and actively work with Videojet’s Legal Department to develop anti-corruption policies and programs
  • Execute special projects as may be required such as investigations etc.
Accounting and Reporting:
  • Subject matter expert on accounting and internal finance policies, including revenue recognition
  • Support the implementation of new accounting policies and standards
  • Participate in month-end closing process and related activities
  • Review business unit’s quarterly disclosure questionnaire

Key Competencies (rank ordered)

  • Experience in general accounting, auditing and financial analysis; ability to implement best-in-class practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to serve as a business partner
  • Project management skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and worldwide consolidations 
  • Proficiency in financial analysis; able to identify variations and trends that indicate possible exposures and the need for countermeasures
  • Able to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing needs
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP and HFM
Experiences (rank ordered)
  • Experience from a combination of internal or external auditing (prior public accounting experience preferred) and accounting/reporting in a multi-national company
  • Proven ability to understand and improve internal controls
  • General accounting and US GAAP
  • Financial analysis
  • Prior experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (Oracle and HFM preferred)
  • Best-in-class control/compliance environment, including Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Manufacturing experience is a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Public accounting experience desirable
  • CPA, ACA, ACCA certification or equivalent required
Level of travel required.  Primarily EMEA travel. However, some limited travel outside EMEA, is required. Approximately 35% travel.
