The Opportunity
This position is coordinates, plans, performs, and evaluates accounting and financial reporting functions of the University and operational activities of the Controller’s Office including the supervision of professional staff. The position provides official external financial reporting and internal financial reports to senior leadership used for strategic planning and goal setting. Oversees accounting process and control function of the University's financial classification and structure and perform administrative duties, including hiring, disciplining, supervising, and performance appraisals of financial specialist. Serves as subject matter expert and intermediary for Tennessee State Audit processes, matters, and concerns.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent and a minimum of six years experience in responsible management within an accounting or finance filed
