About this role:

The Territory Manager (TM) is responsible for driving sales revenue to exceed goals, develop new business opportunities and contribute to overall team success. The Territory Manager will develop key relationships through frequent and routine customer visits, product demonstrations, product in-services and procedural observations.

This role focuses on legacy Apollo products (X-Tack, Overstitch, Orbera) with specific responsibilities for new account development and expanding existing accounts within a geographic region; approx. $1 million plus in annual revenue. Individuals will exhibit strong clinical excellence, stay current on products, programs, and competitive knowledge.

The TM will collaborate with gastroenterologists and surgeons in a variety of healthcare settings, and support health care staff while introducing Apollo’s closure product portfolio. The TM will be trained to understand and demonstrate proper use of our products to physicians as well as allied health personnel. In addition, the TM will work with their Regional Business Director to leverage Apollo’s marketing programs locally and develop and execute on local business plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Local business plan development and tactical execution to increase the utilization of Apollo’s product portfolio in the assigned accounts.
  • Meet or exceed revenue forecast for the assigned geography.
  • Clinical excellence in respective disease states.
  • Support the clinical needs of customers by in-servicing surgeons, gastroenterologists, as well as supporting staff on Apollo’s products.
  • Attend and support the evaluation procedures of Apollo’s products to ensure consistent utilization with the products’ cleared indications, and directions for use.
  • Build and maintain sustainable relationships in assigned accounts with a focus on high priority physicians.
  • Work with practice office staff and marketing representatives to ensure marketing efforts are met.
  • Work with Regional Business Director to select and plan account activity for target accounts.
  • Assist other members of the Regions – by sharing best practices in the territory to foster a team environment.
  • Uphold all the quality policies outlined within sales structure consistently and completely.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Understand and comply with all regulations governing our work and comply 100% of the time with all BSC corporate policy and procedure initiatives.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or other health related field 
  • 3 years direct sales experience
  • Additional 2+ years of sales experience in medical device, and /or business consulting
  • Travel requirements are 30-40% 
  • Documented history of sales success.
  • Proven experience working independently.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary customer credentialing requirements to attend cases and support customers at customer facilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience within the medical field, preferably in an area related to surgery (OR, Bariatric, Robotic) or therapeutic GI.
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the health care environment, including practice management and marketing.
  • Exceptional clinical knowledge in one or more of the following specialties: general surgery, bariatric surgery, therapeutic endoscopy, gastroenterology and/or urological procedures.
  • Demonstrated creativity, situation analysis/critical thinking skills, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation and training skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to be a good team member.
