Position Summary

The Lead Director, Manufacturer Strategy is a critical member of the Trade Strategy team, which is tasked with leveraging CVS Health’s size and scale to create differentiated, one-of-a-kind solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturers that reduce the costs of goods and make pharmaceuticals more accessible for CVS customers, clients, members, and patients across the CVS Health enterprise. This strategic leader supports the Executive Director and VP of Trade Strategy and Operations in driving Trade strategy and informing negotiations through manufacturer intelligence.

An important aspect of the Lead Director, Manufacturer Strategy role is in developing and nurturing strong relationships throughout the Trade organization to develop rich insights and translate them into impactful initiatives. Initiatives can range from new and novel programs with pharmaceutical manufacturers to broader pharma supply chain strategy. The Lead Director, Manufacturer Strategy is expected to be entrepreneurial and analytical, and able to develop their team’s skills to draw insights from disparate sources of data and develop manufacturer strategy from them. Additionally, the Lead Director, Manufacturer Strategy must operate independently with a high attention to detail and strong executive-level communications.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in managed care which may include PBM, Pharma, market access, account management, specialty pharmacy, or health plan experience
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause investigation, problem-solving, analysis and synthesis; experience making recommendations to the leadership team
  • Demonstrated success preparing material and presentations for the business in a way that adds value, is easily understood by others who may not have the same background or expertise, and improves the operational efficiency of the business
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex issues and relaying information in an effective manner
  • Demonstrated communication skills and experience engaging and interacting with internal and external partners as well as senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgement and initiative to construct and execute complex analyses, manage multiple projects and priorities at once

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the coordination of cross-functional team members and key decision makers and the ability to elevate critical issues
  • Demonstrated success utilizing written and verbal communication skills to conduct presentations
  • MBA or Management consulting experience

Education

Bachelor Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
