We are now seeking an experienced and ambitious professional to join our Organization as Principal Consultant for our Career Consulting business. The incumbent is responsible for managing the business with a focus on generating sales and revenue, increasing utilization of resources, ensuring timely collections in the area of Rewards and Benefits benchmarking in the country. This involves proactively engaging with key clients (existing and prospective) to identify opportunities and form long-term sustainable relationships with them;  leading a  team of Consultants and Analysts and grooming them to provide innovative, best-in-class solutions to  clients and partnering with internal stakeholders like Survey Operations with the objective of delivering world class rewards consulting and products to our clients. 

In addition, you can look forward to:

  • Actively engage in business development by independently engaging with key people in prospective clients and identifying opportunities for building a long-term, sustainable relationship 

  • Develop a deep understanding of rewards and benefit trends in specific industries; Form a point of view on rewards practices to provide appropriate consulting advice to clients 

  • Proactively identify opportunities to win repeat business or multi-year contracts from existing clients; Establish a regular channel of communication with existing clients; Host networking events for clients and share Mercer researches in relevant areas 

  • Collaborate with other Lines of Businesses in expanding relationships; Seek business opportunities with existing clients in other businesses 

  • Monitor revenue and sales pipeline versus budgets on a regular basis; Analyze data on collections and sales pipeline and guide Consultants accordingly

  • Develop deep understanding/thought leadership and establish strong working relationships with key individuals in these organizations 

  • Establish forum / network of client organizations within an industry to connect and share best practices on rewards with each other; Host networking events to showcase Mercer research on rewards practices in the relevant industries; Retain and renew clients in the existing forums 

  • Act as a point of escalation for the team to resolve issues pertaining to potential risks in survey administration and closures and provide guidance on such discussions 

  • Actively partner with internal stakeholders like Survey Operations to chart out survey administration for the assigned industry/industries; Publish survey launch communications to clients 

  • Monitor Utilization of Consultants and Analysts on the team and drive optimum utilization of resources

  • Lead a team experienced Consultants and Analysts; Defines goals for the  team and provides guidance and support in meeting the goals;   

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated consultant who is commercially minded and show ability to partner effectively to drive projects. We also require you to have:

  • Possess Bachelor degree from a reputable university

  • At least 15 years of related experience gained in a professional services / HR consulting environment with multi-country focus

  • Sound technical rewards and benefits knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English

  • Attention to detail and initiative

  • Able to work independently and as part of a broader team

  • Good IT skills, including MS Office

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
