Core Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify customer needs and provide estimates for integrated system solutions.
  • Interact with customers, NI staff, external partners, and external suppliers in support of designing, implementing, and sustaining custom test solutions.
  • High-level collaborative design of integrated solutions.
  • Manage and give direction to the development team.
  • Ensure that adherence to development processes and best practices.
  • Review work quality and provide mentorship to other engineers.
  • Design and develop reusable hardware architectures to be leveraged by multiple projects.
  • Work with Project Managers to find optimal technical solutions to project challenges.
  • Responsible for all technical deliverables for given project.
  • Collaborate closely with the customers and the presales teams in early engagements to advise and help create service proposals.
  • Leads the design of the systems, workflows and architectures which enable the future state to be achieved with the use of NI and NI ecosystem tools and offerings.
  • Leads Program Adoption by guiding the introduction of new systems and workflows to enable the customer desired future state (business outcome).
  • Help with providing training, mentoring and growing new talent in the EV space.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of high power and high voltage industrial systems.
  • Experience developing test systems for EV power train components such as Inverters, motors, batteries, chargers, DC/DC converters, etc. 
  • Familiarity with industry best practices on designing for compliance with standards, safety, and certification for high power panel design.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronics engineering related to test engineering.
  • Familiarity with software for test systems and test software architectures.
  • Thorough understanding of systems design principles and experience developing and integrating large-scale automotive validation and verification test systems.
  • Demonstrates technical leadership in planning, coordinating, specification development, requirements gathering, monitoring, quality assurance and status reporting of technical deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience working directly with customers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to:

Basic Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in high power system development, and system integration and/or test and measurements industry on automotive applications.
  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Availability to travel 25% of the time.
  • Familiarity with NI products and platforms.

Preferred Requirements:

  • FPGA Understanding.
  • High power cabinet design experience.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand, SystemLink, PATools Experience.
  • Hands on use of NI hardware platforms.
  • Automotive communication networks and protocols.
  • Measurement System Analysis (Measurement and process variation).
