Job Description

Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Leader will support Strategic Sourcing in development and execution of projects and strategies to meet or exceed category objectives (quality, delivery, savings, resiliency, working capital). Using the tools, teams, and processes in place, they will ensure that strategies deliver continuous value to MLLC and are well communicated both internally / externally to support execution of the vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage MLLCs Strategy Framework and co-lead and participate incross-functional Category teams to deliver continuous value to the organization; Targeting 3% of spend in inflationary environment, 3%+deflation in deflationary; meeting quality, on time delivery and working capital targets
  • Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders (Operations, Materials, Logistics, Quality, commercial team), as well as suppliers, to design and develop best total cost sourcing strategies.
  • Provide support or lead efforts to ensure strategies are consistently updated to reflect the latest internal / external environment.
  • Anchor all efforts and initiatives with MasterBrand Way toolkit and Lean principles.
  • Support the Strategic Sourcing team to ensure strategies, projects, quotes, etc. are delivered on time and prioritized to best meet needs of the company given supplier capabilities and market status.
  • Identify and communicate best total cost improvement initiatives to meet company goals and growth needs.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and capabilities to develop solutions that meet the consumers’ needs by leveraging cost, service, product development, quality and risk management. Ensure data is fact-based so that internal and external vendors can utilize high value analytics to drive their decisions for performance enhancements.
  • Be a key contributor of change management process for product development costing process.
  • Drive the use of new and existing supply market data sources in conjunction with best practices to improve current and long-term operational performance. Lead the development and execution of a long-term strategy to collect, store and utilize data related to our supply chains.
  • Provide support to ensure that stakeholders, team members, and suppliers are in compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Effectively prioritize and problem solve various business needs as identified or directed by Vice President of Sourcing
  • Work with Sourcing Supply / Supply Development leaders & team to ensure applicable detail on projects is supplied to enable effective execution of projects to meet commitments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Business or related field required. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver continuous value in a global supply chain with spend greater than $100M
  • Experience with and commitment to Lean tools and principles.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Curious and possessing vision, Ability to balance long-term actions with short-term needs.
  • Demonstrated use of lean concepts such as 80/20, A3, VSM, and Action Plans to drive value delivery
  • Highly motivated with desire to continuously look at how to unlock value in our categories.
  • Total cost focus incorporating all aspects of value into decision making (cost, quality, performance, risk mitigation, etc.)
  • Manage categories as a business looking for ideas, projects, and actions to unlock value between similar categories.
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfortable interacting with internal stakeholders and suppliers at various levels / geographic locations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to develop strong knowledge of categories, including understanding of cultural, legal, and geopolitical environment in region doing business. Proven track record with successful negotiation.
  • Support development of cross-training and bench strength building within the Strategic Sourcing organization.
  • Experienced in multiple commodity categories
