What to Expect
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will beresponsible for critical component development, qualitymanagement, continuous improvement, qualification activities at suppliers andfor managing the incoming quality program. The job requires effectivecommunication at all levels both with internal and external teams, conductingfailure analysis, leading statistical process control activities for criticalcomponents, process development, First Article Inspection planning andexecution and on-the-spot critical decision making.
What You’ll Do
- Driveimprovements utilizing Lean methodologies, Statistical Process Control,scorecards, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problemsolving and process improvement plans
- Basedon performance and business needs, set priorities for cross functional teamsand suppliers
- Developpositive relationships and work closely with Supply Chain Team to manage,implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies andNew Product Introductions
- First Article inspection planning and execution and development, implementation and managment of Incoming quality processes
- Trackand Manage Supplier Correct Action Request process within the manufacturingenvironment working closely with Supply Chain organization and Suppliers
- Provideleadership and guidance during investigations of major problems and or specialprojects focusing on supplier development and improvement
- Performroot cause analysis, coordinate, and conduct specialized testing andmeasurement
- Plan,organize, direct, and report all activities and matters relating to supplierperformance; Assess supplier qualifications status
- Keepup with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends thatconcern product quality
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field, evidence of experience and exceptional ability, or equivalent
- Experience inQuality Systems is preferred
- Experience andknowledge of PPAP/APQP processes
- In-depth knowledgeof Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and sampling inspection
- Knowledge inStatistics, Statistical Process Control and data mining and analysis
- Possess demonstrableleadership abilities and previous experience managing safety critical parts
- Ability tocommunicate and direct supplier activities at the management level with provenresults in meeting customer requirements
- Ability to defineand execute a project using project management techniques
- Strong verbal andwritten communication skills
- An average of 10%travel is required, possibly on short notice
