What’s in it for you?

As our Manager – Transaction Strategy and Execution

You will join EY’s Transaction Strategy and Execution (TSE) team based in Perth. The TSE division offers corporate, government and private equity clients’ professional strategy and transaction advice and services, from corporate strategy to operational strategy and the strategic analysis phase of the transaction lifecycle, through to deal execution, and transaction integration. The goal is to help EY clients achieve their best capital performance, deliver value to their stakeholders and meet their strategic objectives.

As part of the TSE team, your specific focus will be advising and supporting clients on transactions and operational strategy engagements. Your work will involve collaboration with teams across Strategy and Transactions and the wider firm to address client issues around the Capital Agenda, such as:

  • Raising capital: do I really understand my core vs non-core business, which parts of my portfolio are underperforming, should I consider a divestment and how would I carve-out that BU, separate it and transition it over to a buyer?
  • Investing capital: what’s the best way for my business to grow, where should I be allocating my capital organically and inorganically, what acquisitions and alliances will deliver greatest return, how should I plan for and run a buy-side transaction?
  • Optimising capital: what steps can I take to maximise my business’s performance, how do I design and execute on integration and synergy strategies, how do I adapt my business and operating models and how do I go on and achieve value creation to maximise total shareholder return?
  • Preserving capital: how can I improve the performance of my business, what rapid performance improvement or cost out levers can I pull, how can I improve liquidity and release cash from my businesses, how do I identify and resolve specific performance issues within my business?

This is a key leadership role where you will have the opportunity to grow the capability of the Perth team. This role is offered on a flexible full time or part time basis.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives including leading sales proposals, scoping of projects, commercial negotiations and securing engagement approval from clients
  • Lead the delivery of transaction and operational strategy assignments from inception to completion including project management and report writing
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships with senior stakeholders and be accountable for a high degree of client satisfaction with the engagement process and work products
  • Train, oversee and motivate a team of high-performing professionals, working within the broader Strategy and Transactions team in Perth and nationally
  • Leverage EY industry thought leadership and lead development of sector specific points of view

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.
