About the role: 

We are seeking a highly experienced and result-driven Associate Marketing Manager -Physical Science & Engineering (PSE) Portfolio, who will work closely with marketing team and editorial team to drive journal content growth from China with a focus on physical science and engineering portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with global marketing team to develop China marketing plan for physical science & engineering (PSE) portfolio and to achieve business objectives for China market: (1) Position Wiley as a leading open access publisher, (2) grow article submissions and drive OA momentum in our regular and special issues programs with a focus on PSE portfolio, (3) increase our author base in PSE community by attracting new authors to Wiley’s PSE journals. (4) Targeting principal researchers and authors in PSE community, engage and impact the audience directly to become journal guest editors.
  • Develop holistic marketing strategies to attract more PSE readers/authors to our journal publishing programs. Engage new/past authors and deliver the relevant messages and calls-to-action at the right moment along the publishing journey. Apply the right mix B2C/DTC marketing tactics to achieve maximum ROI / ROAS.
  • Build effective work model with PSE editorial team and global team. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals, including working with cross-functional teams, such as local and global Editorial, Marketing, Data Analysis etc., to roll out China key initiatives, ensuring marketing efforts align with business objectives and the performance is measurable.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and marketing innovations. Explore new opportunities/channels to drive incremental growth and better performance for key marketing initiatives. Use data-driven insights to optimize future campaigns and improve overall marketing effectiveness.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have a Master’s degree in science
  • 4-5 years’ experience in publishing industry and author marketing 
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles, including author marketing, journal marketing, social media marketing, OA marketing and branding, marketing KPIs and ROIs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing marketing team and delivering successful marketing campaigns across various channels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive marketing content and deliver effective presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with key stakeholders in English
  • Work with and within cross-functional global and local teams
  • Excellent presentation skills
