Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager within SAP Dev & Tech.

The Engineering Manager will lead one of several teams responsible for SAP development (ABAP, CAP, UX,…) within SAP Platform Unit.

With in-depth knowledge of SAP framework, platform technology and standards, you will be focusing on continuous solution improvements and driving related initiatives with partner teams and ensure best-in-class analysis and delivery of SAP custom solutions.

You will be building a strong organizational health by ensuring timely deliveries as well as competences development and are responsible for building a strong software engineering culture and contributing heavily in the H&M SAP Community.

You will also be responsible for recruiting, staffing, and retaining talents including having a healthy mix of consultants and employees in appropriate tech locations.

In this role, you will have close collaboration with other teams within the Unit SAP Platforms and the total H&M Group SAP Community across product teams, value streams and operations. Current delivery model is based on central competence team with assignment to delivery teams based on company prioritize.

Some of your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading a team of Software Engineers for a set of technology, software, or platform development.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of H&M custom development solution
  • Be part of SAP digital transformation and SAP ecosystem performance optimization and tuning our development design towards SAP BTP (extensibility)
  • Responsible to ensure Solution Design and Technical documentation along with Architecture diagrams are maintained
  • Responsible that H&M development guardrails, guidelines and recommendations are applied
  • Responsible of development quality of the team
  • Work with Support teams to identify areas of improvement as part of continuous improvements to ensure high quality data, stability, and performance of SAP Solutions.
  • Work with product roadmaps that is a part of the overall SAP Strategy
  • Responsible to capture / plan / anticipate development capacity and competences alongside their respective virtual Product Teams. Dev &Tech SPOC towards assigned Product teams
  • Ensure that the right competence are in the team to enable the SAP Strategy and new technology that are in the roadmap
  • Financial responsibility for budget including forecasting and planning of resources to secure delivery with Vendors as needed
  • Formal staff responsibility for employees, including salary review, performance dialogues and support in individual development plans and competence needs.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in SAP Solutions (preferably Retail Industry Solutions)
  • Extensive experience on SAP Development (ABAP, ABAP OO)
  • Strong experience on ABAP RAP is a big plus
  • Development Experience with SAP BTP is mandatory
  • Sound financial and forecasting skills and experience handling resource allocation budgets
  • Ability to communicate the SAP strategy to a variety of team members.
  • Ability to partner across organisation to work on improvement of the SAP applications
  • Communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Dare to lead and be able to communicate in a clear and simple way
