Target Range:

$100,000.00 /Yr. - $135,000.00 /Yr.

Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

Axos Bank is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to join the PMO team. The role is primarily responsible, under intermittent direction, for planning, overseeing, and closing multiple, complex Agile and Waterfall projects within the established scope, schedule, and budget. Responsibilities include the analysis, preparation, and maintenance of a variety of project documents, plans, and correspondence; as well as, the set up and coordination of project meetings and sessions with a variety of individuals. In addition, this role will be responsible for detailing resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors to deliver software development projects according to plan. This Senior Project Manager will also oversee project quality control throughout its life cycle, and should be meticulous when it comes to delivering complex, software development projects. This position will be on-site and located at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare/Author key project documentation including project plans, project charters, status reports, communication plans, and other documentation in alignment with Axos’ PMLC/SDLC processes
  • Track project milestones, budgets/expenses, and performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals and deliverables
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of Agile and Waterfall projects
  • Actively identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project/Scrum team
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Keep management and key stakeholders well informed on a timely basis on project progress, status and/or concerns to ensure that expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded. Create executive level status reports, analyze project results, and troubleshoot problem areas; as well as perform needs assessment when applicable
  • Plan, lead, guide, document and execute project execution routines including (but not limited to) status meetings, daily scrum, backlog grooming, requirement development, sprint planning, etc.
  • Meet or exceed budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Define project success criteria in a clear and concise manner and disseminate to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project lessons learned/sprint retrospectives and create a recommendation report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Ensure alignment and adherence to milestones and objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business,Logistics, or related field
  • Project Management Certifications (e.g. PMP {Project Management Professional} or CAPM {Certified Associate in Project Management})
  • 5+ years' of IT Project Management with implementation in complex environments
  • A proactive approach to project management
  • Experience managing or working with IT software development projects
  • Knowledge of all phases of the project management life cycle and software development life cycle
  • SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise level application development projects

Preferred:

  • Financial services/banking industry 
  • Agile certifications (i.e. CSM, PMI-ACP)
  • Knowledge of Daptiv, Tableau, and Azure DevOps (formerly Team Foundation Server/TFS)
