The Group:

Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, funds, markets, and portfolios. The Research group also provides data on hundreds of thousands of investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and similar vehicles, along with real-time global market data on millions of equities, indexes, futures, options, commodities, and precious metals, in addition to foreign exchange and Treasury markets. The Role:

The Equity Data team is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative, and results-driven candidate with 3+ years of experience in content writing in Equity & Financial data to join its Equity Data Methodology Team. The team’s mandate is to be the experts in the field of equity data, whom our external and internal clients can trust to provide intelligent, valuable, and timely solutions. To this end as a Data Content Researcher, you will work with business leaders, product managers, subject matter experts, operation team leaders, quality assurance analysts and client/third-party stakeholders to enhance our equity data literature across Morningstar’s various product lines. You will work in a global environment, communicating with stakeholders in multiple regions. You will be a resource to local data analysts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating client facing documentation.
  • Work with subject matter experts, content researcher, content specialist to interpret and simplify specification documents.
  • Work with the product teams to define and understand client personas, needs, and workflows.
  • Translate client needs and workflows into concise data and product requirements.
  • Work with the various product and data teams to implement new datasets and capabilities.
  • Responsible for conducting market, industry, and competitor research.
  • Communicate clear and concise project status information to stakeholders including the sales team and external clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business
  • CA/CFA (preferred)
  • Master’s in communication e.g. MBA – Communication or any equivalent Degree or professional qualification
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and equity ratios/calculations
  • Within overall 5+ years of work experience - at least 3 years of relevant work experience in - writing Articles on Investment, Stock Market Trends and/or preparation of client facing documents in the Investment Domain
  • Significant experience working with customers’ requests and questions.
  • Able to take the initiative and work without detailed guidance or supervision.
  • Able to influence colleagues that you do not manage but whose resource & skills you need to achieve project goals.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Curious and enjoys problem solving.
  • A pro-active and positive attitude and a team player.
  • Interest and personal participation in equity markets is considered an asset.
