Responsibilities

We are hiring for a Design Manager in our Chandler, Arizona location. The ideal candidate will lead the project design team, consisting of engineers, designers, and support staff to produce design deliverables and support construction in accordance with the contract.

  • Tracks overall project design and production processes, including planning, monitoring and reporting;
  • Performs inter-disciplinary quality, coordination and space management reviews with project teams;
  • Leads project budget and schedule;
  • Executes and enforces the project execution plan;
  • Collaborates with project team to ensure design and production resources are assigned to meet the project's overall cost, quality, schedule and forecast commitments are current;
  • Acts as the point of contact for internal design related issues internally and supports the project manager for external project communications with the client;
  • Accountable for managing sub-consultant resources assigned to the project team;
  • Collaborates with the BIM team for the successful project VDC Coordination ensuring adequate hardware and software availability for project team including managing record drawings documentation, operation and maintenance manuals and hand over documentation;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred;
  • Professional Engineering or Architect License preferred;
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture and engineering consulting;
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes;
  • Advanced Technology experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 and/or Navisworks a plus
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the capacity to maintain information confidentiality;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Team player with an ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary groups;
  • Experience with mentoring junior staff;
  • Effective at problem solving while leading by example;
  • Working knowledge of building components, process, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
