About This Role:

The College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University is seeking to fill a full-time position of Director of Recruitment. The inaugural Director of Recruitment will lead the development and implementation of an effective recruitment strategy and activities for all undergraduate programs in the college with a focus on yield and long-term will help to coordinate recruitment efforts at the graduate level. The Director of Recruitment works closely with the college's departments and reports to the Associate Dean for Student Success, Engagement and Undergraduate Studies.

Responsibilities/Distribution of Effort:

  • Develops and implements recruitment strategy, in conjunction with Assoc Dean for Student Success, Engagement and Undergraduate Studies
  • Oversees and coordinates College representation with university partners (especially ORA) and internal partners (academic units) as well as coordinates work for onboarding incoming students with Student Services and Assoc Dean for Student Success (example, New Student Orientation)
  • Supervises recruitment coordinator and develops on-campus events with recruitment coordinator, Assistant Dean of Diversity, Recruitment and Retention, College Events Coordinator and Director of Communication and Marketing as needed
  • Strategizes external outreach in conjunction with Assoc Dean for Student Success, academic units, and ORA with a focus on expanding and increasing enrollment and yield .

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five to ten years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating recruitment programs
  • Record of success in increasing enrollment targets or in recruitment planning
  • Experience or expressed interest in developing a data-informed strategic plan related to enrollment and recruitment in higher education context and specifically with regard to a College of Arts & Sciences
  • Experience working with high school students and/or college student
  • Proficient in technologies such as Slate, Navigate, and PowerBI
  • Experience supervising others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Must be available to work evenings and some weekends
  • Commitment to understanding one's own experiences and perspectives as well as the experiences and perspectives of diverse others in an effort to cultivate strong relationships and collaboration.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$50,000 - $70,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
