As the Senior Technical Support Engineer at Alluxio, What You Will Be Able To Build and Own:

  • As a Technical Support Engineer at Alluxio, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • End-to-End Customer Support: Take complete ownership of customer issues from initiation to resolution, serving a diverse global customer base across multiple continents.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Apply your robust technical skill set to diagnose and resolve customer-deployed Alluxio implementations, collaborating closely with Engineering and Product teams for swift issue resolution.
  • Hands-On Customer Engagement: Work directly with customers on intricate deployments, leveraging your expertise in Big Data both on-premise and in cloud environments to maximize the potential of the Alluxio platform.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales Engineers (SE), Engineering, and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and contribute valuable insights for product enhancements.
  • Customer SLA Management: Ensure that customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met across various assignments.
  • Big Data Technology Proficiency: Engage with a range of Big Data technologies, including but not limited to Spark, Presto, Hadoop/HDFS, Hive, and more.
  • Best Practices Advocate: Provide customers with guidance and recommendations on best practices, setting them up for success with Alluxio.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to our knowledge base by documenting solutions, enabling customers and team members to benefit from your expertise.
  • Always On: Be prepared to work some holidays and weekends, ensuring our customers receive the support they need when they need it.

As the Senior Technical Support Engineer at Alluxio, What We are Looking For:

  • To thrive in this role, we're seeking candidates who bring:
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of experience as a Technical Account Manager or Account Support Engineer, with a strong background in customer support within a similar technical discipline.
  • Big Data Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience with major Big Data technologies and frameworks, including Spark, Hive, ZooKeeper, HDFS, Presto, Hadoop, MapReduce, Tensorflow, and more.
  • Cloud Know-How: 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Linux Mastery: Proficiency in Linux.
  • Containerization Skills: Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Programming Understanding: Knowledge of Java-based software technology, with a willingness to acquire new skills.
  • Independent Operator: The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Positive Mindset: A can-do attitude with a commitment to ensuring our customers' success.
  • Multitasking Prowess: The capability to manage multiple customer issues and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.

The base salary range for this US full-time position is $130,000 - $160,000, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. All candidates receive equity (stock options) and access to a comprehensive benefits offering. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates across all US locations. Work location, skills, experience, and any relevant education or training determine the compensation awarded to the candidate.
