ERM is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Consultant, Sustainability and Climate Change. 

As part of the continued growth and innovation of our global Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change practice, ERM has an opportunity for an experienced consultant to join our global consulting firm as a Consultant in our China offices.

We are particularly looking for individuals with a solid grounding of the policy drivers for Sustainability and Climate Change services for Chinese corporates as they respond to emerging policies and regulations that underpin China’s net zero commitments.

Job Responsibilities

As CSCC Consultant, the job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Decarbonization & sustainability strategy planning: Develop GHG inventories and emissions reduction targets for client company, analyze gaps and design carbon neutrality strategy and action plan.
  • Product carbon footprint (PCF) verification: Assess and quantify the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of products following PAS2050 and ISO 14067. Assist the client to submit audit report and earn verification certificate.
  • Emission baseline assessment: Develop assessment models to calculate client company’s carbon emission following GHG Protocol and ISO 14064. Identify the key equipment & manufacturing processes and evaluate emission reduction potential through data analysis.
  • Climate Change Risk Assessments- Physical and Transitional, in line with TCFD Reporting requirements.
  • Financial / Economic modelling associated with climate change risks.
  • Support the growth and development of ERM’s global Sustainability & Climate Change service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within the service area to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM’s global business, as well as to lead client and technical teams.
  • ESG Advisory: ESG diagnosis, ESG strategy and ESG rating improvement, ESG/Sustainability reporting, UNPRI support, Green/Sustainability-Linked Loan/Bonds, etc. 

Job Requirements 

  • Post-graduate degree and above in environmental engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 2+ years’ experience in a consulting environment.
  • Understanding of the policy drivers for Sustainability and Climate Change services in China including the enabling policies.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.
