The Democratic National Committee seeks an experienced digital organizer with deep experience using digital tools and tactics to cultivate and organize grassroots supporters on a national scale. This individual will direct national social media content creation and distribution strategy, with a dedicated focus on non-battleground and expansion states to help re-elect President Biden and elect Democrats up and down the ballot. This individual will work closely with our in-house Organizing and Content & Creative teams to reach voters with engaging content and tested, proven messaging. The Distributed Content Director reports to the Supporter Cultivation Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Supporter Cultivation Director to build a team and digital organizing strategy that focuses on localizing and tailoring national digital content to states and constituencies.
  • This person will manage a team of 2-4 distributed content strategists who will cater content for their assigned regions and coordinate with states teams and regional organizers.
  • Manage all production processes for content creation and distribution within our core content tool, Reach.
  • Develop a strategic content distribution calendar, including Reach content galleries, labels, and content action cards to ensure a seamless content sharing experience for volunteers.
  • Lead the process to incorporate appropriate feedback loops with content-specific volunteers and staff to inform our ongoing content strategy. 
  • Strategically engage voters in targeted states with persuasive online messaging and content about President Biden and Democrats.
  • Help create graphics that can help recruitment for voter education and building in-state volunteer capacity through our core content tool, Reach.
  • Be a digital organizing thought leader, learning and iterating on how we better bridge digital content and organizing.
  • Track and report out content sharing metrics across grassroots distribution, content feedback, grassroots content creation, and volunteer content sharing experience to DNC senior leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of digital and/or organizing experience managing online community programs;
  • Experience managing teams;
  • Special interest in new and innovative approaches to engaging audiences through digital content;
  • Expert knowledge of digital tools and social media platforms for effective online community development and engagement;
  • You can build relationships quickly with people online and offline, and motivate them to take individual and collective actions;
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret data to inform program decisions and outcomes;
  • Able to coordinate multiple work streams and be comfortable delegating or owning various tasks;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of audiences.

The starting salary for the Distributed Content Director position is $92,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime wages, and is a supervisory position based at the DNC HQ in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
