University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has flagged the PostDoctoral Positions Available job as unavailable. Let’s keep looking.

A Postdoctoral Position is available in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, United States. The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow position is to provide technical and specialized skills in Tumor Immunology. This research will involve investigating the cellular/molecular dynamics of innate and adaptive immune cells to develop novel immunotherapy strategies in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In this regard, xenograft and genetically engineered mouse models as well as patient specimen are employed in both basic and translational studies. A wide set of cellular, basic immunology, advanced flow cytometry, molecular and transcriptome analysis techniques will be utilized to interrogate pertinent questions in several in vitro and in vivo studies. The lab employs genomic tools, novel mouse tumor models and computational approaches to understand the immunological basis of cancer.

The applicant should be self-motivated, able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present their work at meetings, and write scientific manuscripts; should have skill in setting up and use of laboratory equipment, and ability to assist with development of new and improved methodology. The applicant is expected to train students/technologists when necessary and participate in overall lab management.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to perform hands-on experiments to develop novel mechanism-guided precision therapeutic strategies to address unmet clinical needs in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), and to understand the role and mechanisms by which tissue aging influences cancer development and response to cancer therapy by studying cellular senescence. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct experiments, perform data analysis and prepare manuscripts in addition to attending lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars.

The Postdoctoral Fellow's primary research focus is to help the PI merge mechanistic insights with the translational objectives of experimental therapeutics and the accompanying stratifications of genetic biomarkers to address unmet clinical needs in ovarian cancer. The Postdoctoral Fellow will train, learn and study design, data analysis and manuscript writing.
