Human Resources Specialist - DE&I

We have an exciting opportunity for a DE&I change agent who can apply data, business acumen, and empathy to identify opportunities for a more just workforce, values high performance cultures, understands employee experience strategy, and powerfully persists to make impact at the individual and organizational level. 

We seek an experienced HR professional with experience driving DE&I strategies and programs in an expansive and impactful way. The Human Resources Specialist of DE&I will work as a critical change agent in the region, with special focus on increased representation, improved retention of underrepresented employees (e.g., women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ, etc.) and more visible inclusive behaviors within our India and Asia region.

The right candidate will be critical to driving the region’s diversity, equity and inclusion progress commitments and will help ZS make impact by working closely with regional leadership, the global DEI Council, vendors and colleagues throughout Human Resources, Enterprise, and the region. They must identify, develop, and activate partnerships, programs and change to help ZS remain a regional employee of choice and great place to work for an increasingly diverse workforce.

This person will be a member of ZS’s global HR DE&I Center of Expertise CoE (or DEI CoE) which helps ZS achieve its diversity, equity and inclusion commitments through an operating model that focuses on (1) global change, (2) belonging network community development, (3) service delivery and amplification, and (4) regional go-to-market strategies.

The HR Specialist will focus on providing regional go-to-market strategies and solutions – either tailored for the region or adapted from a global solution ready to deploy locally.

This person will report to the global DEI CoE Lead and serve as a critical partner to the executive regional HR leader in Gurgaon India. They will serve as a critical point of contact for internal members of ZS’s belonging network (including ERGs), enterprise teams (e.g., HR, Marketing, Managing Principals) and a host of vendors and experts.

  • Activating and managing project teams of diverse contributors, experts, and vendors; effectively manage multiple workstreams collaboratively and with attention to detail.
  • Connecting the dots and drawing insight from many rich sources – e. business context, conversations, relationships, research and the interactions in daily work.
  • Apply unstructured problem solving to create and communicate credible options for action. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Continuously evaluate the current state of firm DEI commitments and targets. Advise regional leadership and global council on actions required to make progress and achieve impact. 
  • Work with stakeholders, partners, and experts to develop a regional roadmap of change initiatives that can achieve representative, equitable and inclusive impact for ZSers in the region.
  • Work with internal marketing and communications team to develop campaigns, talking points and amplification strategies that inform ZSers (at various levels and roles) of DE&I priorities, progress, and opportunities. 
  • Leverage the authority of the DEI Council and DEI CoE colleagues to bring/take relevant insights, investments, and solutions to/from the region. Escalate and amplify regional developments to influence growth mindset and firmwide decision making.
  • Manage, influence, or pursue external benchmarking assessments; ensure assessment findings are used to clarify and pursue continuous improvement and impact.
  • Support the design of or design equity programs to support a high-performing, diverse workforce – e.g., retention programs, performance recovery programs, emerging talent programs, and skill development programs.
  • Manage projects independently or through an assigned project team within scope, budget, and timelines. 
  • Leverage primary business data and context to validate diversity, equity, and inclusion opportunities; help ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion practices are integrated well within the business growth objectives of the firm

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree, advanced degree
  • Willing to travel across various locations regionally; some international travel required. 
  • Prior 4+ experience influencing and shaping business strategy, talent strategy, or both.
  • Prior 7+ experience providing thought leadership, advisement and consultation for DE&I related to a variety of underrepresented professional populations.
  • Prior experience advising senior and executive leadership within corporate environment.
  • Provides a consistent model of inclusive, empathetic, and diplomatic behaviors; applies discretion when
  • Effective communicator - able to listen effectively, draw inferences from conversations and observations; able to convey a clear point of view.
