Company Description

As the Global Project Manager for Emission Testing Services, your primary role will be to drive a strategy for the development of services related to the measurement and reporting of methane emissions on a global level

Secondly you will be responsible for providing support to the existing SGS Field Services Business. This includes services related to stack emission testing, calibration services, ambient air quality monitoring, fugitive emission monitoring and soil and water sampling

Job Description

Primary responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a business development strategy for the commercial launch of services related to the measurement and reporting of methane. This strategy must be in line with the business and group’s strategy and supported by I&E top management. In terms of this strategy you will be responsible to:
  • Consolidate and identify priority affiliates, target geographies, target sectors and clients within these sectors
  • Validate methodologies, equipment and reporting (database) requirements
  • Act as the global contact point for affiliates and clients
  • Work in conjunction with local business managers and the global team to support building a growing and sustainable business by providing on site training for specific requests in new geograhies to build local capacity and ensure the sustainable development of the service
  • Develop global, regional and local sales plans to support the strategic development of the service
  • Visit priority affiliates, target geographies and key clients within these geographies
  • Provide business support by reviewing regional and global tenders
  • Provide affiliate support support by reviewing requests, providing assistance with proposal writing, performing on-site training and compiling reports
  • Ensure that training materials, templates, client presentations, marketing materials and standard operating procedures are up to data and available
  • Be responsible for establishing clear QA/QC objectives
  • Identify specialist technology partners to complement SGS’s existing portfolio of services 
  • As this is a developing service, it should be noted that, in addition to on-site training, you will also be responsible for service execution ie. fieldwork involving the measurement and reporting of results

Secondary responsibilities

  • Providing support to the existing SGS Field Services Business. This includes services related to:
  • Stack (source emission testing), calibration of CEMS
  • Ambient air quality monitoring
  • Fugitive emission services
  • Water sampling (surface, marine, wastewater, groundwater, drinking water)
  • Soil and sediment sampling

Qualifications

PROFILE

  • Chemist, environmental Engineer or similar engineering background
  • >5 years experience in air emission testing, ideally services relating to the measurement and reporting of methane emissions including the use of different technologies such as OGI and other IR technology, FID, high flow sampling etc.
  • Knowledge of reporting requirements associated with specific schemes such as OGMP 5.0
  • Strong proposal writing, reporting experience and demonstrated experience working with databases 
  • Additional experience in services related to stack (source emission testing), ambient and fugitive emission monitoring, water sampling (surface, marine, wastewater, groundwater, drinking water), soil and sediment sampling
  • Experience of working at height and in a field environment
  • Strong project management skills, experience in business planning and development
  • Proven project management experience including projects covering multiple sites in multiple geographies
  • Demonstrated training experience
  • Experience of P&L management
  • Strong business development capabilities and proven ability to interact with clients at all levels
  • Fluent in English (other languages would be an advantage)
  • Able to be flexible in response to work demands, including international travel globally

  • Able to coordinate several activities simultaneously
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

The position requires business travels.
