What You Will Do:

Our Business and IT Strategy Transformation consultants help our clients improve business value through optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of their IT capabilities. This high performing group plays a critical role in multi-disciplinary strategy teams. We enable our clients to understand, plan for, and realize strategic opportunities presented by information technology through a collection of capabilities such as Enterprise IT Management, Mission Enablement, and IT Transformation. Our cloud strategists in particular, develop and execute cloud strategies that align with an organization's goals, improve efficiency, and drive digital transformation.

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years working on AI strategy, cloud architecture, cloud management office, or cloud financial optimization (FinOps) projects
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree, Master’s a plus, preferably in a rigorous academic program at a top school
  • Must be located within 50 miles of Tvsons, VA or Arlington, VA and willing to commute onsite to Guidehouse offices and/or client sites located in the Washington metropolitan area
  • Experience in a top-tier commercial or public sector consulting firm
  • Experience applying critical thinking and structured processes to help clients navigate uncertainty and solve complex problems
  • Possess a combination of strategic, technical, and interpersonal skills to effectively advise clients on the planning, adoption, and management of cloud services
  • Demonstrates a proven record of success in roles within a professional services firm or large enterprise that supports client cloud services including:
  • Cloud Strategy: An understanding of both cloud services and a client organization's industry, market, and business objectives to define cloud strategies in alignment to broader business goals. Aptitude for identifying and solving complex technical and business challenges related to cloud adoption and management. Understanding and documenting existing business processes, systems, and technology. Gathering, analyzing and articulating high-level business capabilities and requirements. Engagement with business executives to define, understand and document cloud strategy and desired cloud capabilities, iterating new business and technology capabilities, and creating and implementing future-state capabilities. Collaboration with clients to develop strategic plans and roadmaps, tactical initiatives, key performance indicators, and reporting dashboards.
  • Cloud Migration Planning: Defining a high-level plan for an organization to move existing on-premises and/or co-located application workloads and their associated data into a cloud-hosted environment. Experience conducting application rationalization assessments to identify opportunities to rehost, refactor, re-platform, or replace applications. Experience formulating infrastructure optimization recommendations.
  • Cloud Architecture: Proficiency in designing and architecting cloud solutions that align with an organization's business objectives while optimizing for scalability, security, and cost efficiency. Developing architecture diagrams, process flows, drawings, and visual communications.
  • Cloud Vendor Knowledge: Deep understanding of cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including knowledge of their services, capabilities, and pricing models.
  • Cloud Governance: Knowledge of cloud governance frameworks and leading practices to align to cloud strategy, ensure compliance, manage risks, and maintain control over cloud resources.
  • Cloud FinOps and Cost Management: Skills in optimizing cloud costs through efficient resource allocation, cost monitoring, and implementing cost-saving strategies. Knowledge of Cloud FinOps. Expertise in modeling and forecasting cloud costs to support budgeting and financial planning.
  • Hybrid and Multi-Cloud: Expereince advising clients on leading practices to manage hybrid and multi-cloud environments to ensure seamless integration and workload distribution, manage risk, and control costs.
  • Change Management and Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively convey cloud strategies, benefits, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor cloud-related projects effectively.
  • Innovation and Experimentation: A creative mindset to explore emerging cloud technologies and innovative solutions that can drive business growth. A commitment to staying updated with evolving cloud technologies, trends, and leading practices.

  • Cloud Consulting Skills
  • Automation and DevOps Recommendations: Proficiency in automation tools and DevOps practices to streamline cloud provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes
  • Desirable certifications: PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
  • Desirable clearances: an active or prior DoD Secret clearance or equivalent
