Volvo Cars has a fantastic opportunity in Marketing to serve as Retailer Marketing Manager, supporting our growth strategy and our aim to create value through marketing technology and tactical advertising communications, that is led with consumer-centricity, while building increased automation, scaling, and predictive data-sharing capabilities, that all drive positive consumer experiences and increasing return on advertising spend, from brand to product to retail.

Job Summary:

You will play a vital role in driving the marketing and tactical media transformation of Volvo Cars USA. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including retailers, field teams, agencies, and other sales & marketing channels, while shaping and connecting digital marketing to consumers across their consumer journey.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Volvo Retailer Tactical Advertising Program (“RTAP”) across Ad Groups and Retailers.
  • Coordinate and assure implementation of Volvo’s Tier 2 Retailer Marketing Boards, our Dealer Ad Groups, in the top Designated Market Areas.
  • Continue the grow and develop our New & Innovative Tier 2.5 Data-Sharing Advertising Program, including the current year launch, and the continuous development of internal programming, guidelines, processes, media planning, and 1st Party Data audience integrations.
  • Manage and continue to build our Tier 3 Retailer Advertising Support and Compliance Programs, including Minimum Advertised Price Program monitoring, Predatory Practice monitoring, Brand/Content Advertising compliance, and Co-Op Support program.
  • Strategically and collaboratively work with our field regions and agencies of record on the above and develop quarterly go-to-market playbooks that connect the tiers and channels.
  • Manage the various Local Tactical Media Agencies of Record, Compliance/Co-Op Agency, and Ad Group Accounting Agency.
  • Forecast, media planning and performance relative to variable volumes and our budgets.
  • Work with Media & MarTech Teams bringing Volvo 1st Party Data (1PD) into our National, Ad Group, and Retailer media audiences for retargeting across the tiers, and building look-alike audiences that expand our growth and conquest opportunities.
  • Work with Experiential Team and Region on Marketing Volvo Studio DTLA and Other Events. 
  • Participation in various Retailer Marketing Board Ad Groups throughout the year, and other support when needed for Retailer Advisory Board meetings, Retailer Digital Advisory Group.
  • Collaborate across multiple stakeholders to support the above and/or new use cases and document requirements.
  • Work with third-party digital, data, and other vendors as applicable.
  • Become the point of reference for Retailer Tactical Marketing within the company.

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • At least 8-10+ years’ experience in Marketing and working with Brand Teams, Agencies, Sales Teams, and Retailers, automotive preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills.
  • Established relationships with sales & marketing teams.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing innovative, tactical media plans across Tiers and Channels.
  • Experience leading agency relationships.
  • Experience with building sales & marketing plans across all channels.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities.
  • A roll-up your sleeves “get-it-done” mindset.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure projects while staying resilient and positive under pressure.
  • A passion for Volvo Cars and an ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Possess a strategic mindset, creative approach, and proven ability to execute.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Confident decision making with a bias for action.
  • Comfort with change and ambiguity.
  • Strong networking, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
  • Collaborator with a strong ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate proactively and collaborate with key stakeholders in sales & marketing, and digital / finance / other.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to inform decision making.
  • University degree in business or relevant subject such as marketing, communications.
  • Automotive experience is ideal.
  • Excited to work in a hybrid role based in Mahwah, New Jersey.
