About the Team

The e-commerce legal team provides comprehensive support for diverse, cross functional, and multi-jurisdictional initiatives across the TikTok e-commerce business in the UK and Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and dynamic legal team, in a division that is enjoying hyper growth on a truly international scale.

The Role

We are seeking a lawyer to join our EU e-commerce legal team in London to support across a broad range of UK and EU logistics and e-commerce matters.

The focus of this new role will be to support TikTok Shop's logistics teams across the UK and Europe. As part of a full service e-commerce legal team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of advisory, commercial, and product matters.

You will bring your bias for action, strong ownership, energy, and enthusiasm to respond quickly to a business that is scaling fast.

Responsibilities

You will join a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering excellent stakeholder service to achieve pragmatic solutions for the business. In doing so you will:

• Draft and negotiate a range of high value contracts with vendors and partners, including supply, distribution, and logistics contracts.
• Support logistics procurement deals, including warehouse, storage, and facilities negotiations.
• Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments in trade, import/export, logistics, licensing, and supply chain management, and support the business teams in understanding and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Review and provide advice on logistics related digital product features.
• Advise on the development, update, and implementation of policies applicable to TikTok Shop sellers, customers, and logistics partners.
• Build cross-team relationships across a highly matrixed international organisation, partnering with different legal, business, and cross functional teams, to deliver projects against short timeframes, setting appropriate priorities, and managing legal risk.
• Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and procedures and develop and implement strategies to scale and standardise the use of legal resources.

The ideal candidate will be qualified in a UK or EU jurisdiction with 3+ years PQE and possess the following:

• Strong academic background, with legal qualifications in the UK and/or Europe.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a range of complex commercial contracts.
• Experience advising on trade, logistics, and warehousing contracts, and logistics related technology solutions would be preferred.
• Knowledge of legal frameworks relevant to logistics and transport sectors would be an advantage.
• Experience working with cross-functional business stakeholders as in-house counsel in an international matrixed organisation, with e-commerce experience preferred.
• Organized and driven, with an ability to work independently and with little direction on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• A confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills who is able to clearly communicate complex topics to cross-functional business partners across the globe.
• Strong drafting, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Possess the highest standard of ethics, a positive attitude, and intellectual curiosity.
• European language skills would be a bonus.
