What’s the role?

Senior Software Engineering is responsible for the delivery of software, which may include new development, configuration, Maintenace and installation of third-party packages, and software integration efforts. It may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software and website design, development, programming and software deployment (both the installation and decommissioning of software). As well proper working knowledge and experience with AVEVA (ISM, AIM-A, Gateway).

The role requires actively working with key IT and Business stakeholders to plan and execute the approach for implementing a digital solution, incremental delivery of releases, enhancements and fixes according to the roadmaps that are agreed with IT portfolio management and key business user communities.

Accountabilities

  • Working across P&E and Asset Technologies portfolio as software engineer
  • Develop domain knowledge in Engineering Information Management space to provide consultation and guide business (Shell projects/assets) in choosing the right digital solution to fulfil their business requirements and play a pivotal role in delivering the agreed solution as a development engineer
  • Incremental development and delivery of releases of applications according to agreed roadmap, in coordination with application vendor
  • Providing L3 support to business by working closely with both IT and Business Stakeholders and application vendor
  • Following Agile and DevOps model in delivering, supporting and maintaining the applications
  • Foster relationships with other IT teams in Shell that contribute to application integration and the end-to-end service delivery model of the relevant applications. Also, work in larger projects as developer to implement new applications and interfaces
  • Support members in the team to deliver solutions as senior configurator
  • Support members in the team to develop their skills by training them
  • Keep technical expertise up to date

What we need from you?

  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering) and IT Background
  • Good understanding of Engineering Data Warehousing and Document Managment concepts
  • Understanding of Discipline Engineering and Capital projects in the Oil and Gas Industry (preferred)
  • Understanding of Reference Data Library Standards
  • Software Development Skills – C#.Net, ASP.Net, ASP.Net Core, Azure Web API, REST APIs, Web jobs and Azure functions (preferred)
  • Experienced with Software Delivery Life Cycle methodologies especially Agile and waterfall model
  • Ability to multi-tasks, plan and schedule own work completely for short term assignments
  • Good English communication skill, both written and verbal
  • Stakeholder Management: understand, work efficiently and communicate effectively within a complex organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively and manage relationships with senior Business leaders, peers and subordinates, in a virtual, geographically dispersed and cross-cultural environment
  • Understands and can describe how own work fits into the broader organizational goals and objectives
  • Understands and can identify internal and external customers, key stakeholders and suppliers/strategic partners
