Located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, in Eugene, Oregon, Oregon Hillel serves as the center for Jewish student life at the University of Oregon and Oregon State University. Oregon Hillel seeks a visionary, dynamic and strategic leader with proven organizational skills to lead Hillel at Oregon State University in Corvallis, as our Campus Director. If you are passionate about and committed to building vibrant Jewish life on campus, creating an expansive program of Jewish learning, celebration, community service, Israel and networking to serve Oregon State’s growing Jewish student community, and ready to engage and empower students to help drive and develop innovative initiatives on campus, and you committed to diversity, pluralism, inclusion and audacious hospitality, then look no further! As the campus director at Oregon State, you will increase the level of involvement, excitement, and commitment of students in all aspects of Jewish life on campus and cultivate relationships with students, families, alumni, community stakeholders and University partners in support of Hillel’s mission. 

What You’ll Do

  • Set a vision and strategy for Jewish engagement, leadership, and empowerment by inspiring students to develop their Jewish journeys and identities
  • Provide Israel awareness, education and advocacy and promote student connections with Israel
  • Develop relationships and collaborative strategies to engage students, alumni, families and supporters
  • Direct programming, activities, budgeting, fundraising and develop university partnerships
  • Serve as a mentor to students, assist in helping students create programs/events when possible
  • Supervise student Interns & student leadership board
  • Have confidence in your Jewish knowledge and bring your experiences to inspire students as they navigate their Jewish journey
  • Commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with all partners and stakeholders

What You’ve Accomplished

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant professional experience as a Hillel professional or Jewish communal professional, college student activities or young adult community
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, Group Supplemental Retirement Annuity (GSRA), pension plan, life insurance, Long Term Disability (LTD), Flexible Spending Plan, unlimited (unaccrued) vacation medical leave, and parental leave.

  • You will be located in the middle of the Willamette Valley, close to the cities of Portland, Eugene, and the Oregon coast, the rivers of the high desert of Bend and the Cascade Mountains. There are excellent winter and summer sports available year round. Corvallis itself boasts a large amount of hiking and bike paths. 
  • The University is also home to the Oregon State Beavers, who field exciting teams in football, baseball, basketball, softball, track and field, and others. Wearing a hat or tee-shirt emblazoned with a Beaver will bring you a “Go Beavs” from other fans around the world.
