ResMed Malaysia Operations (RMO) team has a new opening for a proven engineering leader to join the team and oversee entire manufacturing engineering operations in Johor Bahru (i.e. Production Focus Team, New Product Introduction, and Research & Technology).

ResMed operations in Johor was established in 2011, since then we have opened a second factory, in 2022. Our dedicated team manufacture, assemble and pack ResMed’s headgear products for ResMed CPAP masks and we’re looking for an inspirational leader to develop, grow and expand on our capabilities.

Let’s talk about the role:

In this role you will be responsible for strategizing, developing, growing, and leading the Research & Technology, New Product Introduction, and Production Focus (manufacturing, equipment, technician etc.) teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with senior and executive management across all functions to align and define the strategic manufacturing objectives and outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and encourage collaboration within engineering department and across different departments for solving complex issues, driving improvement, etc.
  • Actively develop team culture, set vision and direction, create a positive environment where the team can do their best works, etc. 
  • Actively develop self, team member and overall team competencies.
  • Inspire people to a better future, create followership and lead by example.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for all operational and people matters, including coaching and mentoring people manager.
  • Resource management and budgeting
  • Develop and drive LEAN practices and culture. Support a structured approach to continuous improvement (CI) with broad employee participation and engagement.
  • Develop, improve and innovate manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost (i.e. gross profit margin and etc.).
  • Ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect intellectual property.
  • Accountable for high quality engineering deliverables, technical processes/ robustness, and continual improvement.
  • Accountable for compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements and other business systems (i.e. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality).

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years Management/Leadership experience within process development environment
  • Significant experience in manufacturing engineering leading technical teams
  • Demonstrated aptitude for successfully working within ambiguity and solving complex engineering problems autonomously
  • GMP knowledge and experience advantageous
