Objectives of the Position

  • Drives the technological advancements and innovation strategy and development for Asia Pacific as a key enabler of the overall success of People Cluster APAC
  • Ensures IT requirements of all teams in People Cluster APAC are taken into account and tactfully prioritizes and executes initiatives through close alignment with global People Cluster and Global Digital teams.

Main Tasks

Overall HR IT System Owner Role

  • Implements Technoledge strategy and framework for People Cluster APAC.
  • Manages existing HR IT Systems, including continuous improvements, user community trainings, license & release management, system cost development.
  • Leads the management of underlying data structures within the general HR data management framework to meet requirements regarding processes execution, transparency, reporting and analytics.
  • Develops and maintains IT solutions that assists People Cluster APAC to achieve great employee experience, efficiency gains and regulatory compliance of technology systems.
  • Works with teams on configuring, managing and troubleshooting multiple technology platforms, overseeing and testing updates, processing reports, ensuring that systems comply with data security and privacy requirements, and other technical duties.

Service Engagement

  • Represents People Cluster APAC in HR digital solutions in KL hub and in global context.
  • Collaborates with People Cluster community, business stakeholders and Global Digital teams in support of system maintenance, production support, project/process improvement, training, and managing additional functionality in HR systems.
  • Manages stakeholder engagement to influence global directions to match Asia Pacific HR requirements as well as within Asia to manage individual (country) needs to regional solutions, wherever beneficial
  • Maintains closely connected internal network; i.e.BASF (HR) IS community in APAC and global; Global HR IS team ; HR communities in APAC.
  • Engages external network with HR IT vendors to provide fast and cost efficient IT solutions and interactions with system providers

Process Improvement and Project Initiatives

  • Champions, drives, and executes HR IT initiatives and projects and change management incl. management of resources (workload across different teams, time, cost benefit, tracking etc.) and stakeholder management
  • Analyses HR systems data and identifies optimization potentials, strives for exceptional HR systems experience for the employees and managers, Focus more on digital transformation rather than only on system updates or compliance matters.
  • Ensures enhancements are optimally designed, configured, and work well within BASF systems infrastructure. Manages development risks and resolves issues that affect application enhancement scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Measures and monitors progress to ensure application enhancements are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
  • Communicates and adapts presentations to a wide range of audiences regarding goals, planning process, project initiatives, team innovation, and results.

People Leadership

  • Energizes the HR digital community in People Cluster APAC, provides coaching and direction to community members
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HR management systems with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies; examines trends in information systems training materials and techniques
  • Consistently demonstrates corporate values of Creative, Open, Responsible, and Entrepreneurial (CORE) on people leadership practices.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

Education

  • Tertiary education. Bachelor Degree in in IT/IS related fields.

Working Experience

  • 10 years professional experience in Information Systems with a proven strong experience in a MNC, (HR) IS systems and/or (HR) process excellence.
  • Experience and familiar with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build process, testing, and code release of HR systems (SAP, ServiceNow and SuccessFactors) and knowledge systems.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

  • Requires intimate knowledge of HR systems, architectures, technologies, standards and protocols.
  • Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices preferred.
  • Proven expertise in business process management and technical change management
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels
  • Good general Human Resources skills and knowledge in the Asia Pacific region is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and process mapping applications.
  • Fluent in speaking and written English. Knowledge of any other Asian languages is advantageous.
