The Product Testing Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation for product testing of Hotwire’s entire service offering. The Product Testing Specialist role will involve heavy collaboration with multiple architecture and engineering teams across network, voice, video, data center, and IT systems. This role will also participate heavily in the development of test automation solutions, leveraging several modern frameworks and environments and using proven product test approaches, deliver high-reliability, cost-effective solutions to be used by QA test, development and operations partners; to ensure that a product has successfully passed all testing phases before it is deployed to the field.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze system and product specifications for full comprehension.
  • Provide coordination and leadership over testing projects, activities, and testing labs.
  • Collaborate with Product Architecture to develop effective strategies and comprehensive test plans.
  • Develop and manage performance metrics; develop and maintain strategy for customer experience validation.
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
  • Evaluate product interoperability according to specifications.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
  • Report bugs and errors to project team.
  • Track troubleshooting of issues up to resolution/closure or report scope of impact within test report.
  • Prepare comprehensive testing documentation and present it to key stakeholders for approval.
  • Conduct post-release and post-implementation for testing and monitoring of operations reporting related to product.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage physical lab environment.
  • Ability to identify, document and troubleshoot errors.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
  • At least 2 years of experience in an ISP lab certification environment
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
  • Experience with modern software development/test tooling and applications (Python, shell scripting, GNU Make, Ansible, Git, Gitlab CI/CD, Robot Framework).
  • Experience with Cat5e/Cat6, SMF, MMF cabling, and SFP/SFP+/QSFP optics
  • Experience with several of: Cisco IOS-XR, IOS-XE, Cisco Meraki, Nokia SR-OS, MediaRoom, Tivo, Vantiva, Ruckus, Yealink, Polycom
