The HP peripherals organization is embarking on their next chapter – HP Peripheral 2.0. This HP Peripheral 2.0 vision is to create an ecosystem of peripherals that enhance productivity, empower creativity, and improve well-being for the Hybrid Worker at home, On-the-Go and in the office.

Given the critical nature of this vision, HP is looking for a Senior Manager for its HP Branded peripherals Product Management team. Reporting to Director of Peripherals Product Management, this is a people management role for a seasoned technology product planning and management executive with P&L experience who will be responsible for shaping and driving the market leadership of HP Branded Peripherals.

In this role, you will lead a team of Product Planner and Product Managers responsible for establishing and delivering product roadmap and portfolio.

The ideal candidate for this position should bring: -

  • 12+ years of product management experience in strategic technology product planning and management
  • Deep understanding of PC and Mobile (Smart Phone and Tablets) Peripheral markets
  • P&L management experience would be preferred
  • Demonstrated world-class product planning and management skills taking sophisticated products to market
  • Demonstrated track record of leading major product initiatives, focused on the core business issues, defining challenges and goals, and setting strategic direction to accomplish immediate and mid-range objectives
  • Have the appetite to drive the product roadmap of the Peripherals category through customer feedback and market insights while also shaping customer desires to match the product line trajectory.
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues.
  • Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall product roadmap and innovation to grow the business.
  • Recruits and supports development of direct staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team to develop and implement product & portfolio strategy, product roadmap, new ideas, business cases, innovative products with differentiated experiences
  • Establish shared vision across the organization by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution
  • Determine nature and scope of product lines by designing the product specifications and requirements, appraising new and innovative product ideas and/or product changes
  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and adoption
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders,
  • Bring new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering,
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with marketing, NPI, sales, Supply Chain,
  • Closely collaborate with world-wide Marketing and Branding team to promote HP Peripherals image and branding awareness to customers.
  • Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented, diverse, equitable and inclusive team of product managers and product leaders,
  • Manage multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure org is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with MBA or equivalent degree preferred,
  • 12+ years of experience in Product Planning and Product Management,
  • 8+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams,
  • Experience of hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and senior leaders is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in product management, understanding of customer requirements, product development, spec analysis, pricing, strategy planning, competitive analysis, sales planning and financial planning,
  • Prior experience in working in a matrixed structure and with global teams,
  • Driving for result with passion, agility and always ready for dynamics and challenges,

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated management skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership in product design or current product management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with selling partners, R&D or customers.
  • Proven experience leading, driving and measuring virtual teams towards a common goal.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including senior management.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-faceted, and global environment.
