Senior Director, Membership Business Development & Partnerships

The Senior Director of Membership Business Development & Partnerships is responsible for all business development opportunities and partnerships for the Forbes membership team, with a heavy focus on Forbes’ digital subscriptions. The ideal candidate is smart, ambitious, naturally curious, and has previous experience with subscriber-focused partnerships and business development on the publisher side. 

The incumbent will research, package and close new business opportunities, expand relationships with current Forbes partners plus identify trends and new categories of potential partners with the goal of growing the membership base and adding additional perks and benefits for the members.

This role reports directly to the Chief Customer Experience Officer and can be permanently remote or based out of our Jersey City, NJ office. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Cultivate new relationships with potential partner organizations and companies whose members and employees would benefit from access to unlimited Forbes content
  • Research, establish and maintain relationships with partners offering benefits to Forbes members across travel, entertainment, financial, hospitality, luxury and wellness industries
  • Develop and deliver winning proposals and programs that increase membership and provide valuable perks and benefits to members
  • Build process for membership + perks and benefits programs from sales through to execution and renewal
  • Identify, review and recommend opportunities for new revenue streams and expansion opportunities
  • Support growth of all alternative revenue streams and partnerships for members
  • Maintain deep knowledge and understanding of media and membership industry trends
  • Serve as an external representative of the Forbes Customer Experience team in a positive and enthusiastic manner

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in business development, partnerships and/or sales
  • Experience with subscriber partnership development preferred 
  • Experience working on the publisher side preferred
  • Highly organized, keen attention to detail and strong leadership skills 
  • An eye for process improvement and efficiency when implementing new ideas
  • Impeccable communication and relationship-management skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A natural ability to deliver convincing pitches through spoken and written word
  • A calm, cool, and collected mind, coupled with a strong sense of humor and drive to achieve 

The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000
