Senior Business Development Director (Southeast Region of U.S)

Siemens Government Technologies is seeking a Senior Business Development Director for Federal Energy accountable for growth of strategic federal customers in providing energy management products, services, and business solutions to reduce energy and operations expenditures. Key capabilities include experience in strategy, client management, opportunity capture, proposals, and pipeline development. This role reports to the Infrastructure and Energy Solutions, Business Development Sales Manager.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Manage and grow sophisticated federal government projects independently within established guidelines with established contract vehicles. 
  • Drive awards to include winning new standard contracts, delivery orders and task orders. 
  • Work with resources, internally and externally, including project developers, engineers, finance, legal groups to provide attractive solutions to our customers. 
  • Collaboratively transition contract awards to project managers and monitor project execution 
  • Resolve installation, collections, and other customer satisfaction issues. 
  • Execute engagement with customer to support products and services and future prospect development. 
  • Prepare accurate and thorough customer activity reports, forecast reports and proposal expense tracking using Salesforce. 
  • Represent in large and small strategic venues to include civic and professional organizations and conferences, meetings, and seminars. 
  • Develop strategic roadmaps with customers that utilize Siemens’ hardware and software systems. 
  • Deploy account strategies, including pipeline development. 
  • Develop proposals for customers and advise the team on the best go-to-market strategies. 

Requirements include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a similar field or minimum of 15 years of experience in lieu of degree. 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in US Federal Government Contracting as a Salesperson, Project Manager and/or Engineer
  • Specific federal agency experience is a plus (i.e., government or military experience
  • Knowledge of Siemens hardware and software systems.
  • Deep understanding of customer account management, development, and acquisition.
  • Understanding of federal government contract vehicles
  • Proven track record of success with previous portfolio. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Understand federal government agencies, procurement vehicles and general federal market knowledge to achieve successful goals. 

Preferred: 

  • Industry Certifications - CPP, PSP, PMP

Location:

  • Southeast Region of the United States

Travel: 

  • Willingness to travel to customer site locations on a routine basis, (20%-30% omit from posting)

Security Clearance: 

  • Candidate must be US citizen and have the ability to obtain a US federal agency security clearance if later required.
