JOB SUMMARY

Rainbow Health is hiring a Peer Support Program Assistant to provide support to HERR Day Out (a community of women who are living with HIV) and Positive Link (a group for gay, bi, queer, pan, and same-gender-loving men and non-binary people who are living with HIV), our peer support programs for folks living with HIV dedicated to reducing stigma and improving healthy life choices. This person will provide administrative support in the delivery of HIV education and support services that empower health-promoting choices for HIV-positive individuals. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Providing administrative support for peer support programs, groups, and social outings, which will include but not be limited to: data entry, logistical support for great Minnesota visits, client follow up, and more. 
  • Following up with clients and participants after events to verify information, as well as providing reminders of upcoming events. 
  • Assisting with completing intake forms either by meeting with new clients before or after outreach events, or using information gathered by other staff members. 
  • Collaborating with agency and community HIV professionals, stakeholders, and non-profits. 
  • Supporting program staff and leadership in meeting government contract requirements such as data collection and reporting deadlines. 
  • Completing administrative tasks in a very specific timeframe in order to meet funding deadlines and requirements. 
  • Maintaining current working knowledge of HIV prevention, care, research, and related programs and services through ongoing trainings and communicating updates to colleagues and clients.
  • Attending and providing onsite, in-person support in large events, typically in the Twin Cities metro area – some limited evening and weekend work may be required based on events. 
  • Other duties as assigned based on agency and department need.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working or lived experience of participation with peer support or client focused work. 
  • Experience in an administrative role requiring accuracy and work in multiple databases would be helpful. 
  • Proficiency in a second language other than English.
  • Individuals with lived experience or a passion towards our target populations (Gay/Bi/MSM/Queer, Transgender, African American, multi-racial communities that are disproportionately impacted by HIV, HIV positive people, and those engaging in risk behaviors for HIV in individual and group settings) are encouraged to apply.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is currently being with a hybrid format, splitting time between working from home and working in the office. Most administrative work can be done from home; may need more in office work at first during training. Events will require in-person work. 
  • Employees working in person with clients or out of our offices are required to show proof of vaccination and attest to their vaccination status upon hire. Employees who are not vaccinated will be required to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result once a week if working with clients or in our offices. Religious and medical exemptions or reasonable accommodations will be considered upon request as required by applicable law.

SALARY

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hiring range for this position begins at $20.09/hourly and ends at $22.76 hourly. Rainbow Health reviews all direct relevant work experience to evaluate the appropriate salary at the time of an offer of employment. 

This position is part of a union-represented bargaining unit with SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa. All wages, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment have been established through negotiations with the union.
