Summary of Position

The Manager directs social engagement across the lifecycle of each title, from greenlight or acquisition through all release windows including theatrical, PVOD, packaged media, and catalog. On assigned titles, the Manager develops and implements the social strategy for the entire organic marketing campaign on owned socials including creative and content placement, live social media event coverage, content capture, red carpet premieres, special screenings, press coverage, junkets, talent long lead content days, events, websites, emails, digital activations, sweepstakes and all other title-based social marketing activity. The Manager provides daily agency supervision on social media campaigns for assigned titles including creative content production, copywriting, ancillary assets sourcing, content calendar development, audience engagement innovations, and overall digital campaign collaboration with title-based cross-functional teams. The Manager works with all internal departments to help promote cross-functional initiatives and priorities through social channels. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including strategy, media, partnerships, operations, PR, and creative departments to align social media efforts with overall marketing objectives
  • Create and curate compelling and visually appealing content for social media platforms, including text-only posts, static images, motion assets, and interactive media, ensuring high-quality standards and brand consistency
  • Manage and maintain budgets for all line items related to social media
  • Co-manage the team's digital coordinator, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the timely execution of campaigns, social toolkit needs, agency support, and asset management
  • Advise on, communicate and implement best social media practices. Trendspot for emerging platforms and zeitgeist opportunities. Evolve tactics throughout each campaign as new data emerges
  • Vet, select and manage Social Agencies for title-specific campaigns including creating the RFP
  • Monitor the general film, entertainment, and cultural landscape as it pertains to social media; including working across Analytics and Strategy to provide relevant reporting and updates
  • General platform management duties including community management, social listening, etc. 
  • Assist in directing internal resources and third party agencies as needed on social-first design and development of websites, digital activations and, when relevant, display media such as roadblocks and takeovers 
  • Main point of contact for IP or content leaks on socials; responsible for communicating with Agencies, Anti-Piracy Teams, and Platform reps for flagging / takedown 

Title Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead in developing overall owned and organic social strategies and creative for each title comprising of: 
  • Creative & Evergreen Content Messaging 
  • Fan & Community Outreach
  • Influencer Amplification & Earned Media Opportunities 
  • Talent / Filmmaker Social Strategy & Fulfillment 
  • Work in partnership with Digital Creative Lead and Media teams in supporting social needs for paid social strategies including digital media creative rotations and copywriting
  • Strategize, build, manage & execute weekly organic social calendars created in collaboration with Strategy, Creative, Media & Publicity 
  • Create social media posting guidelines and recommendations specific to Talent/Filmmakers for actively shooting on-set productions and throughout campaigns as needed
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with Social Media Agency as it pertains to platform management and execution of the social calendar
  • Moderate daily Community Management in tandem with Agency
  • Capitalize on real-time trends and fan activity; including requesting Creative, creating low-lift content, and/or copy
  • In conjunction with Publicity, communicate special social content concept & requests to Talent reps and teams 
  • Act as the main point of contact in major asset launches including trailer launches, featurettes, clips, tickets on sale, etc. as it pertains to title specific social pages including - 
  • Providing Publicity with assets, posting instructions, and direct contact information for Talent/Filmmakers in case of any issues or questions
  • Assistance with influencer/tastemaker screening programs including creating and drafting messaging for on-screen cards
  • Point of contact for International team for delivery of assets and social calendar

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role **at least 1-2 years of film studio experience strongly preferred**
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, trends, and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a creative flair 
  • Experience copywriting for a variety of tones and genres 
  • Experience communicating with executives and filmmakers and working closely with talent to capture social content
  • Solid knowledge of digital marketing principles and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful social media campaigns
  • Familiarity with video editing software and graphic design tools is a plus
  • Strong project management & organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and communicate status updates
  • A passion for movies and a deep understanding of audience preferences and trends
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment

$77,000 - $80,000
