Graduate Supply Chain Mechanical Engineer

Description -

Part of the Procurement professionals’ team within HP Print Procurement & Strategic Commodities (PPSC), working for the Large Format Printers (LFP) and 3D Printers businesses. He/she will be instrumental to develop and implement digital tools and improvements that support the Procurement roles.

He/She will be also accountable to manage strategic vendors and manufacturing partners mainly related to mechanical manufacturing technologies, from a business and technical stand points, He/She will work in an international organization, interacting with suppliers and organizations worldwide. He/She will have to work very close with LFP and 3D R&D teams to understand new technology needs, provide market and design for cost, quality & manufacturability inputs, and industrialize the assigned parts and subsystems. He/She will have to master the market related to mechanical fabrication, metal forming, machining processes, machinery & equipment construction and related suppliers, continuously improving Cost, Quality and Assurance of Supply, and identifying adjacent new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement digital tools and improvements based on PowerBIs, databases, Sharepoint lists, as well as work on process automations to increase productivity and data quality (i.e. using tools as PowerAutomate, etc.)

2. Responsible for the sourcing strategy of critical technologies for 3D and Large Format Printing Procurement Engineering organization.

  • Considering the entire product life cycle needs.
  • Building market technology and cost intelligence at part/subsystem/function level, identifying the possible suppliers.
  • Influencing early design decisions to get the most efficient supply chain for new products.

Education and Experience:

Recent bachelor' s (or upper) Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with:

  • Maximum 3 months of work experience after graduation. Work experience is not required, but appropriate internships in industry is an advantage.
  • Digital skills with knowledge in data analytics and databases. Know-how in coding would be also a plus.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and extract insights.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
  • Experience with data modeling, data mining, and predictive analytics techniques is a plus
  • Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability in data analysis and reporting.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to partner with people from other cultures.
  • Solid Business skills: Strong market investigation intelligence (intuition, inquisitiveness, strategic vision).
  • Project Management skills: Able to deploy cross-organizational implementation plans through partners, timely track progress, identify deviations and proactively take corrective actions. Strong leadership skills, able to effectively sell own ideas, and to influence others to buy-in and follow them without having direct control. Good team leader.
  • Strong negotiation skills: Able to get the best deal for HP without breaking the relationship and without impacting the schedules. Good control of the communication pace. Creating empathy with the partner.
  • Strong Team Building and teamwork: Able to build rapport with partners so that new ideas can be accepted smoothly; and to give/receive open and honest feedback in a positive attitude.
  • Problem-Solving Attitude:
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to take ownership of challenges.
  • Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to business problems.
  • Excellent Presentation and Communication skills: Clear presentations, going directly to the point and transmitting high level of confidence.
