MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Model Implementation

Directly contribute to quality implementation of the Education and life skills Core project models (CPMs) and interventions:

  • Lead the assessment process to set the actual needs for the education models under LR and EiE.
  • Launch the education models program in the new established governmental Kindergartens under the Learning roots, and components for the education in Emergencies model, according to the approved DIP.
  • Under the supervision of the education and life skills coordinator, to support the child resilience officer in Makani’s monthly schedule and activities.
  • In collaboration with the child resilience officer and under the supervision of the education and life skills coordinator to contribute to successful implementing the Makani clubs in the zone, through setting the specification of the tools and items, Distribution of all educational tools and furniture, and conduct the assessment for the needed standards and rehabilitation for the Kids club premises.
  • Perform all financial payments related to CPMs in the target area according to the approved budget and cash flow
  • Lead, plan and coordinate the training of teachers, parents and community groups in his/her geographical area in the zone.
  • Ensure timely and quality spending of the project activities in alignment with budget timelines and plans.
  • Ensure a physical location is identified, prepared, and set-up for each KG as per MOE minimum standards, including prioritization of needs across the zone, procurement plans, and supervising rehabilitation work.

Manage and coordinate for the implementation of Emergency projects, PNSs and Grants:

  • Ensure early identification, planning and implementation of education in emergencies activities in relevant area program in consultations with other local stakeholders, including alerting the Technical Coordinator and Zonal Manager with advance notice of need to assist in emergency situation affecting access to education.
  • Ensure feasibility of the project in the community and all in the appropriate place
  • Lead the implementing of the grant/PNS in CZ related to education and life skills CPMs

Coordination, communication and stakeholder Engagement

  • In close cooperation with Education Coordinator, CESC Coordinator and/or officers, support and facilitates the meaningful participation of registered children in education project models.
  • Lead and Maintain strong working relations with village councils, local schools, education department, parents and community stakeholders relevant to project model activities implementation.
  • Contribute effectively to the local meetings with main stakeholders/ beneficiaries, relevant to project activities to set yearly plans.
  • Contribute to a positive culture of learning and sharing in the Zonal office and beyond by actively and continuously engaging in learning event, technical expertise training etc.
  • Take the initiative to generate/ share communications materials to be used for products addressed to different categories of audiences.
  • Lead and prepare the Meeting with related parties in the MOE jointly with the project manager for the PNS
  • Ensure visibility of the project in the community and all in the appropriate place PNS/ grants
  • Ensure that all WV supported activities in the field of education abide by WV Safeguarding and Child Protection policy.

Procurement, logistics and data collection

Support the team with procurement related aspects in the following areas:

  • Lead the delivery of specification requirement for the new deliverables and tools.
  • Conduct technical check for the deliverables in coordination with the supply chain
  • Lead the process of distribution of the tools and equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate with partners to set the appropriate plans and implementation process under PNS/grants
  • Contribute to supporting the Grant department in sharing key needs and priorities, conducting preliminary/inception studies, inspecting needs, and participate effectively in making decisions to help developing relevant and effective projects designs:
  • Conducting comprehensive research and analysis to identify the needs and challenges within the target community
  • Conduct all the logistics preparation for the training and activities related to the PNS/Grant.
  • Contribute to fulfill the responsibility of periodically collecting data related to the water and sanitation systems (WASH) in the West Bank office and submitting it to the WASH cluster in coordination with the director- the data include information about implemented projects, number of beneficiaries, place of implementation, budgets spent, and completion rate.

Support the SCM department in the following:

  • Lead the annual procurement plan compilation
  • Inspect the specifications of procured education materials the zonal and national level
  • Quality testing through direct checking of stationary, furniture, outdoors toys, safety and DRR tools etc.
  • Report the results related to the technical inspection and compliance verification.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the direct supervisor/ Zonal Manager

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Direct leadership of activities under his/her responsibility and/or support the relevant ELA team to achieve relevant targets:
  • Facilitate/lead the Baseline process in the geographical area that he/she responsible for; and report the results in coordination with the ELA team.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach the facilitators (Parenting facilitators, IDELA Assessors) and the DOE supervisors in the field implementation of the model and conduct coaching when needed. 
  • Support the Education coordinator in other duties relevant to the education project model in the Area of operation.
  • Conduct trainings for the assessors in the beginning of the year on the monitoring tools (IDELA, MEQA) to relevant data collectors/ supervisors
  • Follow up all the required Baseline – End line for the education models and do all the related payment and facilitation and coordination in the field
  • Contribute to the evaluation process for each phase

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience and Education 

  • At least 2-4 years of experience of working in project coordination and implementation.
  • A graduate degree in Degree in Education social science, or related subjects to development or relevant years of work experience
  • Capacity building in facilitation, training and leadership of capacity building activities. 
  • A good level of English language

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Experience working with local government and community based organisations is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity, abilities to work as a team.
  • Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a proper standard of English.
  • Computer literacy; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
