Position Overview

Responsible to support managing the overall quality and fit of Polo and Purple Label Men’s Tailored clothing, aligned with brand direction, aesthetic, and market. Support the development and fitting of all Polo and Purple Label Tailored clothing garments from initial development protos, salesman samples through to stock in partnership with Design, PD, Production, Merchandising, Sourcing partners and vendors congruent to brand calendar.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

PRODUCT MEASUREMENT SPECIFICATION:

  • Track, receive and prepare all proto/fit garments for review with Design for details/fit approvals.
  • Schedule in house fit sessions with cross functional team members and global partners.
  • Support and assist to create POM’s, construction, and hand off comments for all programs and coordinate with PD for release with relevant direction, samples, and reference garments.
  • Assist to review and analyze blocks/core fits for consistency seasonally. Identify and report any inconsistencies or radical shift in fits to manager to ensure appropriate meetings are held to gain consensus on final direction.
  • Assist with general daily task management based on need within the Technical Division FIT APPROVALS:
  • Support management of fit approval process in accordance with salesman samples and stock approval deadlines.
  • Manage fit schedule to include model booking, managing meeting requests, setting clear and realistic agendas.


Ensure all fit garments and evaluation sheets have been received from factories. Thoroughly measure and evaluate - against T/P prior to the fitting and identify discrepancies for follow up and manage to stock resolution for streamlined process.

  • Demonstrate an understanding for the brand aesthetic and fit expectations.
  • Participate in product fittings to evaluate balance, silhouette, construction, and garment details and take clear notes for cross functional partners’ reference. Ability to identify fit issues and provide appropriate solution.
  • Responsible to maintain consistent and accurate fit comments, grade rules, and tolerances and supply POM sketches and detail grading as appropriate for category at stock approval.
  • File and organize In-house samples as needed, keep approved samples in order.

FLEX PLM / SYSTEMS:

  • Create Measurement pages and all other related pages congruent with technical design/PD in close collaboration with teams.
  • Help maintain information on Flex PLM and share drive with all updates, graded specifications, fit photos, fit notes, technical diagrams, and written comments.
  • Maintain digital and physical style reference libraries by category.
  • Understand system and process and can call out discrepancies.
  • Support and assist completion PLM tech packs, including BOM page.

GENERAL:

  • Have market awareness and shop seasonally to help inform decisions or provide suggestions.
  • Review department processes and suggest ways to improve to manager.
  • Participate in any department special projects.
  • Promote teamwork by resolving problems and removing barriers that prevent collaboration.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. 
  • Experience in apparel related role preferred
  • Experience in a luxury technical design function participating in live model fittings. 
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with high level of attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrates initiative, time management skills and flexibility in a change-oriented culture. 
  • Excellent communication and follow up skills with ability to work across cultures and collaboratively. 
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Fostering open and honest communications and relationships. Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn continuously, and embracing cross-functions for improvement. 

Computer Skills: PLM, PDM, Adobe Illustrator, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
