Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design Specialist II to join our team in Glen Burnie, MD.

Description:

  • The Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design Specialist II is a journeyman-level position that designs and creates the visual elements of a software application or website to make the user interface attractive, intuitive, and user-friendly for the target audience. They ensure the interface is consistent with brand identity and overall user experience of the product or service. Responsibilities are to conduct user research and analysis to understand the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the users; create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and style guides to illustrate the layout, structure, and functionality of the interface; use design tools to create high-fidelity graphics, icons, animations, and interactions for the interface; collaborate with developers, testers, and other designers to ensure the interface is implemented according to design specifications and standards; test and evaluate the interface on different devices, browsers, and platforms to ensure its usability, accessibility, and compatibility; collect and analyze feedback from users and stakeholders to resolve design issues and make improvements; and stay updated with trends, technologies, and best practices in graphical user interface design. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design Specialist II takes direction from more senior personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of position-specific relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or related discipline with 4 years of experience. (Can be substituted for a HS diploma with 8 years of experience or an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience.) 
  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level-II Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software development or related discipline.
  • 2 years of experience in an Agile development environment.

Clearance Requirements:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance is required prior to starting this position.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
