OPPORTUNITY

In collaboration with school leaders, we hold the crucial task of ensuring each position is filled with the most skilled and mission-aligned individual. As the Human Capital Manager, you will be instrumental in designing and executing premier human capital strategies as they relate to teacher and school leader recruitment and fostering an environment dedicated to hiring and nurturing exceptional talent. This role is a blend of teacher recruitment and selection, people operations, and strategic talent advisement.

Leading a small team of Human Capital team members, you will spearhead key teacher and school leader recruitment and selection initiatives, ensuring seamless attraction, development, and retention of top talent within our organization and reports to the Director of Human Capital. This is a role serving as part of Green Dot California’s central office team, primarily based in Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Teacher Pipelines Development

Work in collaboration with our Talent Specialists and Recruiter(s) to develop and implement strategies to source, attract, and convert top teaching and school leader talent from diverse backgrounds.

Collaborate with external institutions to identify potential teacher and school leader talent and create tailored recruitment strategies and student teacher placement opportunities.

Oversee the creation of a robust talent database and utilize it to fill immediate and future teaching positions.

Succession Planning

Collaborate with Director of Human Capital, executive leaders, and school site leaders to recognize pivotal roles and potential successors.

Implement a streamlined succession planning process, guaranteeing a consistent talent flow for essential roles.

Organize training and developmental programs/opportunities for chosen successors, equipping them for prospective roles.

Teacher Residency/Partnership Management

Work in collaboration with Talent Specialist to supervise Green Dot’s teacher residency programs/partnerships, validating their efficacy in equipping new teachers for success.

Appraise the impact of the residency program, introducing necessary refinements to enhance results.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting

Periodically evaluate the efficacy of all human capital strategies, leveraging data-driven insights to suggest and actualize enhancements.

Work with Human Capital team members to collect and create reports to senior leadership about the status of teacher pipelines, succession strategies, residency programs, and partnerships.

Cross-Collaboration with Human Resources

Actively engage in cross-collaboration with the Human Resources team to align on organizational goals and core components of the People team strategy.

Support Human Resources and the Human Capital team with onboarding teacher hires and tracking their experience through their first year.

Managing High Performing Team

Manage a team of Talent Specialists and/or Recruiters – supporting them in designing and meeting objectives and providing personalized guidance and support.

QUALIFICATIONS

As an ideal candidate, you:

Have at least 3 years of experience in human capital or recruitment, emphasis on talent and pipeline development (5 years preferred).

Have experience managing teams (lateral management experience will be considered) and fostering growth in direct reports 

Can demonstrable success in overseeing teacher recruitment programs and partnerships/collaborations.

Possess Certification/Credential knowledge and experience. 

Have acute analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving acumen.

Possess stellar communication and interpersonal skills.

Are an adept relationship-builder with the capacity to guide and influence towards achieving remarkable outcomes.

Have exceptional verbal and written communication competencies.

Have impeccable attention to detail, paired with robust organizational, time management, and follow-up skills. A high degree of urgency, the capability to concurrently manage multiple projects, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Are able to work the occasional evening and weekend based on organizational requirements.

COMPENSATION

The starting salary range for this role is $82,000 - $88,000. To allow for salary progression over time, offers at the top of the range are rare. Individual education and experience will be considered when issuing offers. In addition, this position qualifies for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
