Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director of Marketing - Enterprise Marketing Strategy.

In this role, the successful candidate is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the strategy and development of innovative marketing initiatives tailored to diverse patient segments and healthcare professionals. This high-visibility role involves overseeing a dynamic marketing strategy team, collaborating with other marketing departments and cross-functional NYULH stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with the health system's mission in order to drive brand reputation and appointment volume.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Head of Brand, Experience, Creative & Design, this leadership role owns the overall strategic coordination of NYULHs marketing efforts, including the creation of innovate programs, a deep understanding of the profiles of different audiences, and the advancement of NYULHs enterprise objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

Enterprise Marketing Strategy Development:

  • Oversee the development of strategic, research-based, and data-driven marketing strategies to reach physician and general audiences via digital and traditional strategies
  • Define effective audience segmentation to understand unique profiles that inform the design of effective marketing strategies
  • Own the master calendar across other Communications and Marketing (C&M) Centers of Excellence; coordinate the sequencing and activation of marketing campaigns; identify synergies across campaigns
  • Define governance around campaign management and sequencing
  • Leverage performance metrics and outcomes from virtual and in-person campaigns to inform future and adjust existing strategies
  • Infuse data-driven insights into marketing strategy campaigns and assess their effectiveness, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as brand reputation, conversions (i.e., appointments) for patients & leads, physician referrals, and customer lifetime value (LTV)
  • Stay updated with healthcare marketing trends and best practices, adapting strategies to industry changes

Collaboration and Influence

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and communications teams to ensure effective campaign and program implementation to increase reputation and revenue
  • Coordinate with the Brand Ecosystem Lead to ensure all marketing campaigns adhere to brand-specific guidance, and strategies are aligned with the overall vision for NYULH
  • Strategize with the Advertising Lead on the design of marketing campaigns requiring promotion via paid channels
  • Communicate governance and standards around campaign management and sequencing to Relationship Leads for service lines, departments, and hospitals
  • Collaborate with the Program Measurement Center of Excellence to establish measurement strategies and key performance indicators (KPIs); integrate these metrics into decision-making processes to maximize return on investment
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the broader Brand, Experience, Creative & Design Team’s strategy, collaborating with leaders to drive volume and reputational impact
  • Align marketing plans with NYULH’s strategic priorities, emphasizing patient-centered care and digital innovation
  • Lead strategic market assessments, including analyzing market environments, brand reputation, competitive intelligence, and forecasting industry/market trends

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Guide the team on how work gets done, set priorities, ensure standards are understood and adhered to
  • Ensure clarity for the vision of the team to help them understand their role in the overall strategy of the institution
  • Champion a strong continuous improvement culture and ensure deployment of scalable, simplified, and standardized processes

Financial Responsibility:

  • Manage the allocated budget and operational forecasts of the Enterprise Marketing Strategy team, working with the Chief of Staff

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management, Strategy, or related field

9+ years of experience in Marketing Strategy

3+ years of management experience building and leading effective teams

Proven experience in healthcare marketing strategy and digital innovation

Proficiency in project management, communication tools, and data analysis

Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally

Established track record of working closely with and effectively communicating to executive leadership

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply and communicate data-driven insights

Creative instincts and willingness to test-and-learn

Exceptional leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to influence, teach, inspire, motivate, and collaborate effectively

Proven ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed environment

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Experience communicating to senior leadership and C-suite audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred (MBA)

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $146,384.38 - $194,021.10 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
